When I first downloaded, the tiles looked blurry. The developer had replied that it might’ve been the version of my operating system. I didn’t have a chance to check that because I had deleted the app. After a few iOS updates, I decided to re-download the app and give it another try, and I guess that was the issue, because now it’s crystal clear. The only thing I don’t love is that the game can only be played in landscape mode, which is not very comfortable for my hands. But other than that it’s probably the game that I play the most. I appreciate the variety of game boards and that the developer isn’t data farming.

Hi, thank you for trying Leon’s Mahjong and for sharing your feedback. My son Leon and I designed the game originally for landscape mode, inspired by the old computers we grew up playing on, that’s why it currently supports only that orientation. The tiles were drawn as pixel-art to keep that classic retro look, but they shouldn’t appear blurry. If they do on your device, I’d really appreciate it if you could send me a screenshot so I can check and improve it.If you’d like a refund, please request it through Apple’s App Store system, since all payments are handled by them. If for any reason Apple denies it, just reach out to me through the support contact listed on the store, and I’ll gladly arrange a refund personally. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience. Every comment helps me make the game better.Lucas

Exactly what I was looking for! Other mahjong solitaire apps are too easy, barely requiring an ounce of forethought; just hunt, peck, hunt, peck, ad nauseam. On top of being terribly cute, Leon’s Mahjong offers actual puzzles that you *can* mess up by just mindlessly matching. That it also tells you exactly how many occurrences of a tile type to expect allows extra planning.I am currently recovering from hand surgery with limited options for how to spend my time. This has been a real boon, especially in the morning as I drink my coffee and wait for my meds to kick in. Hats off to the developer! I love the inclusion of an avocado tile :)

Classic Mahjong w/ No Fluff or Ads

I’m a gamedev myself, so I like to support other gamedevs making games the way I like to play them. I’m happy to pay for a game, and hate ads in my games. And this game is a fun, no-frills Mahjong experience that plays in 5m and… that’s it. It does exactly what it says it does. Classic Mahjong, pixel graphics, and no ads. It actually gives me a bit of nostalgia playing it. I’ve played 50 games already and I think it’s my new go-to relaxation game. Nicelydone, Leon.

This is a really, really great matching Mahjong game. It might actually be the best I’ve ever played in terms of the overall experience. The tile art is beautiful. The user interface is so well designed. The backgrounds are beautiful. The music tracks sound really nice and don’t get annoying. This reminds me a lot of the early Shanghai games for the PC Engine, Sega Master System, and Sega Genesis. A hidden gem for sure.

Now with game controller support! Connect a compatible controller and play the whole game with it, from the menus to the board. There is also a new tileset called Easy, with big, colorful symbols that are simple to tell apart at a glance. That makes five to choose from, and you can still switch between them at any time while you play. And you can now choose when "No More Moves" appears: as soon as you are stuck, or only when you press Hint.
