Students often feel overwhelmed, making it difficult to stay in touch with their families. Parents, on the other hand, want to stay updated. To help you maintain consistency, Detailer includes functionality to schedule daily, 3-day, or weekly reminders to check in and send a message!
Created by a Computer Engineering/Computer Science student at the University of Southern California, Detailer has one goal: to help you keep in touch. Developed from scratch in Apple's Swift programming language, the app boasts over 4,000 lines of code and continues to grow.
I really want to keep my parents updated on how I am doing and my life at school, but find it so hard to remember to check in during my busy schedule. Detailer makes it so much easier to do so in a meaningful and fun way. Really looking forward to seeing how the app develops and what new features get added!

I’ve been using the app with my son for the past week or so and it has been working great. I like the prompts - they’ll ask things I never thought of! Looking forward to using it this fall when he moves back to college. 3-day check-in reminders will help!
