Loved the original, buggy re-release

Update:After the update, a lot of the bugs I mentioned have been resolved. Only other things I have seen are enemies just walking over gaps sometimes instead of jumping and mostly graphical issues. Overall feels great to play again and glad they were able to fix the bugs quickly!Original: I played the original Castle Doombad more than most games by a long shot. The re-release is still really fun but it’s a buggy mess. I’d say 20% of the time I can’t finish a mission because of enemies stuck in a wall or some other glitch. The fourth mission of the beach chapter straight up glitches every time. Doomkins bug out on floor traps, enemies get frozen in random spots, and more random glitches. I rated it high because I’m really glad the game is back, but wow please fix the bugs.

Im really annoyed because I have to rewrite my review after very quickly checking something in castle doombad so now I gotta start with the bad and have no good in my review, I cant even have my statement on the general gameplay now because Im lazy. There are so many bugs in this game that it might just be unbeatable, from enemys breaking the laws of physics to a completely unbeatable level because of ninjas. Enemys might fall or fly off screen due to game features that youd suspect would function normally, sometimes they no clip far underground and become unseeable meaning you have to start over your progress. There are straight up impossible missions because the game cant compute the fact that you completed the dang mission such as 1 trap or doomkin for each floor, I tried 1 trap or doomkin per floor and soloing an entire level with a singular loomkin and it just doesnt do anything. And about the unbeatable level, the beach level 04 is quite literally impossible due to ninjas and I got no clue if other stages have this problem. Apparantly ninjas cant swim with all that gear so they just sit under the “castle” (beach house) just floating like idiots and not swimming towards the ladders which they are supposed to use to come up, so not only cant they kill you but you cant kill them.

Game feels fairly unique and I’ve enjoyed playing it so far, but there are a couple of things to point out. The biggest issue to me is a lack of customer support. There is no option in game to contact a representative to report issues, so this review is essentially my best means of doing so. Gold generation also feels rather slow given the sharp increase in prices with upgrades or new traps, so a suggestion would be to either lower said prices or add some means of gaining gold other than winning levels, such as the standard afk rewards feature. Finally, I’ve encountered a bug where when a ninja mob jumps up to the next level and immediately falls through a trapdoor, his animation for the jump completely freaks out and he winds up just floating around the tower with zero gravity, completely invincible even to manual traps and making the level unbeatable, has happened to me now on more than one occasion. Overall the game is surprisingly fun and easy to learn, would recommend

First up, sometimes while the princess is being taken, the hero carrying her becomes invincible as traps won’t notice them and doomkin’s will initially lock onto the hero but then not attack. Secondly, sometimes a hero will just vanish but not move and is killable still which I find funny. Lastly, (im not sure if this is a bug) the heroes should be attacking any auto bows or scream generators that block their way but instead they mostly ignore them and walk pass. Bonus one, the grenade of the hero that throws it will still allow ceiling traps to be placed still on the affected area. Bonus 2, sometimes most times when a hero escapes with the princess on the space version, the game freezes for me. Bonus 3, when the lifeguard revives a hero, they sometimes become invincible.
