Lena’s Shopping List was born from a personal project and combines a shopping list with simple meal planning. The developer’s wife wanted an easy app for shopping lists and meal planning—without complicated recipe input, without extra fluff, without ads, and without collecting your data.
Create as many shopping lists as you like with your own categories. Add quantities and quickly check off completed items. Share shopping lists with other users for collaborative editing and checking off.
Plan meals and meal templates so you always know what you want to cook today, tomorrow, or sometime in the future. Add the ingredients you need directly to your shopping list. Create meal templates for frequently cooked meals. Share meals with other users for collaborative viewing and editing.
Keep track of your pantry with inventory lists. Quickly add running low items to your shopping list and automatically move checked-off purchases into your inventory.
Chat with people you’ve shared lists or meal plans with to quickly clarify questions or uncertainties. Attach the relevant context (shopping list or meal) directly to the chat.

Make existing menus into templates
Previously, templates could be created separately or when creating a menu. Now you can also convert an existing menu into a template.
Pinned lists will be displayed in color
On the home page, pinned lists are now also displayed in the color you selected for the list.

Version 2 is a completely redesigned edition of Lena’s Shopping List. It offers you:
***Design***
With a new and updated design, Lena’s Shopping List looks modern and clearer than ever.
***Everything in One Place***
In the previous version, shared lists or meal plans had separate views. Now, everything is located where the function is found. This means you can see shared lists or meal plans in the same place as your own. Shared data is clearly marked. No more duplication.
***Improved Sharing Function***
This affects both the display of shared data and the functions and permissions. Previously, for example, meal templates could not be used by multiple people. Now, all functions in shopping lists and meals are also available in shared form.
***Offline Shopping Lists (PRO)***
Shopping with Lena’s Shopping List can be frustrating when there’s no mobile signal in the store. That’s why there is now an offline mode. This can be activated for any list before shopping. The app will then display only that list, which is available offline and allows you to check off individual items.
***Shopping List Templates***
Do you often buy the same items and don’t want to rewrite your list every time? Here’s the solution: you can turn any shopping list into a template. All items are saved in this template. Instead of entering each item individually, you can add an entire template to your list with just two clicks.
***Shopping History (PRO)***
When adding an item, you now have access to your last 20 checked-off items, which can be added to your list with a single click.
***Units and Item Consolidation***
Previously, quantities could only be entered as pieces, which isn’t practical for many items. Now, you can enter quantities in different units, such as “1 kg potatoes” instead of “10 pieces.”
Additionally, identical items can now be easily combined. If you already have 1 kg of potatoes on your list and need another kg for tomorrow’s meal, the new entry is added to the existing one. No more duplicate entries.
***Improved Meal Templates***
The display and use of meal templates have been significantly simplified. Templates can now be expanded and collapsed and sorted by various criteria. They can also be used for shared meal plans.
***Smaller Upgrades***
* Pin as many shopping lists as you like on the home screen—both your own and shared lists.
* Add photos to menus and items for more color and clarity.
* For people managing chronic illnesses, the energy required for cooking can now be tracked: when enabled in settings, you can define how many “spoons” a menu or meal template consumes.
**Note on In-App Purchases:**
The basic version is now free and offers in-app purchases. Support the developer with a monthly subscription or one-time payment to unlock additional features. If you’ve already purchased the old version of the app, contact info@lenas-einkaufsliste.de for a voucher code.
