My life has actually changed a lot since getting this app. Between actually leaving my house to pick up drops, participating in my clan’s various activities, interacting with the very active and helpful community on Discord, taking part in the various games/events in the app, and creating fun buildings/avatars, I spend most of my day somehow connected to this game. As someone who has agoraphobia, having something that motivates me to leave my house is huge, and I’ve spent more time outside my house/being social in the last month than I have in the last year. On top of that, while creating buildings can be as simple as adding a card or two and letting the AI make an image, a lot of the community really leans into seeing what the AI is capable of. I personally have a lot of fun buying buildings that I am familiar with and trying to recreate it the best I can with the cards I have. I also love going to towns with weird names and trying to create buildings based off of that. It really fills both my motivation and creativity voids that have been plaguing me for the last few years. And if that wasn’t enough, the developers of the app are SUPER accessible and responsive on Discord and you can expect to see most minor issues you spot cleared up in like 2 days MAX. They are constantly cycling through events with special activities (like right now for Christmas they are doing the 12 days of Christmas where every day something new is announced). This is so much more than just a random little game for your phone, you will make friends, you will get to express your creativity, and you might even get a few extra steps in every day!

I found this app casually scrolling tik tok one day. I pretty much downloaded it immediately just because i liked the art style. Upon entering i realized it was like it was a cross between pokémon go, territory building, and AI image creation in a great stylized art style. It’s really a great app and super fun to use while just out and about. I’ve been on a couple trips recently and i’ve bought most of the buildings where important things happened and it’s nice to look back on. Anyway, app is great here are some bugs that I have run in to:1. I’ve been trying to refer friends and i’ve had maybe three people join your app. However, the link i send them doesn’t work and i don’t get any credit for referring them. It would be cool if i could get credit because i referred three people so far. 2. When you hold down on the energy button to open a card too long, the haptic feedback will run continuously instead of just once. 3. When you are scrolling and picking a card to put on a building, the scrolling is immensely finicky. If you click on a card accidentally (which happens all the time) and then click cancel, the scroll wheel goes all the way back to the top of your collection. It’s super annoying and not to mention accidentally using a card on a building and not having the ability to remove it. 4. Not a bug but a great addition would be to add the ability to remove cards from buildings for a price. Anyway, super great concept and use of AI just with a couple bug fixes. Thank you!

I’ve never ever been one to play phone games or video games in general but I have been absolutely addicted to this game! I think my favorite part is that it’s a true “choose your own adventure.” There are many different aspects to the game but you aren’t necessarily required to participate in all of it to succeed. I love that I can buy property that is meaningful to me and use my creativity to build whatever I want! Whether it’s reminiscent of what’s actually there or just having fun creating cool stuff with AI. But one of my favorite parts of the game is that you have to walk to gain Energy (the currency of the game) and pick up drops (the cards you use to build your properties) and I am ADDICTED to collecting all of them! Also I didn’t even know what discord was before downloading this game and now I feel like I’ve made some really cool friends that I would’ve never met if it weren’t for Block Party! Download it! You won’t regret it!!!

I’m going to open this by saying that I am incredibly impressed and in all of such a trailblazer game concept that also inspires a form of health IRL - execution, UI and art all are top-tier and clearly a team of people that love this are behind it and are consistently working on it. I would have given five stars however it’s unclear if the ‘Block Party Devs’ get some form of special privilege or superpowers within the game, seemingly competing with paying / free players, it’s easy to assume that they could give themselves any asset in the game to benefit themselves, or they could actually all be strictly playing as individuals and it be communicated with the company that they do not get any special privileges however, this is not communicated. I’m sure many other people that enter the game space may feel the same way. It could be communicated in the discord, but I haven’t seen it, I feel this is important to express.
