"Isher Micro Media", developed in sweet memory of Sant Isher Singh Ji (Rara Sahib), is a sophisticated and versatile search engine of Sikh Scriptures and a resource of important reference to Sikh literature. After trials and feedback from some selected scholars, it has been made available as a Windows based program since 2003, as an iOS app since 2013.
As there is always a scope to make modifications and make updates in such a program, it is being updated frequently.
Having said all this, the application has been designed in such a way that the process of search remains as simple as possible. This application has evolved over many years, resulting in such an elegant but simple design. The search windows are organized with icons that represent various actions and options.
Now, the new version of Isher Micro Media launched on 29th September, 2024 has been dedicated to 450th Gur-gaddi Divas of Sri Guru Ramdas ji Jyoti-Jyot Gurpurab of Sri Guru Amardas ji. It is going to be a boon for Sangat; general users Sikh preachers, scholars and researchers, and above all our young generation. In today's world of technology and AI, keeping abreast with the latest techniques of disseminating Guru's message, this app now has Gurbani and other Holy Scripture in Gurmukhi, Devanagari, Shah-mukhi (Urdu) and Roman Script.
The major update of this version is addition of authentic sources of our Sikh history, i.e. Bhai Santokh Singh ji Kavi Churamani's Sri Gur Partap Suraj Granth; Giani Gian Singh ji's Sri Guru Panth Prakash and Tvareekh Guru Khalsa; S. Rattan Singh ji Bhangoo's Pracheen Panth Prakash; Sarup Das ji Bhalla's Mahima Prakash, Sohan Kavi's Gur Bilas Patshahi 6, Kuir Singh's Gur Bilas Patshahi 10. All this source material has been made searchable with unique search options and distinct features.Nevertheless, given the amount of features, there is going to be a learning curve.

I humbly thanks creators of this app. It is very useful app. There is lot of effort put in to creating this app, however, in order to improve this app, I am attempting to suggest some features below:Pros:Most featuresMost BanisMost translationsStable, I did not see any crashes yet. Most important.Core user interface (bani part) is undoubtedly well designedFavorites features is very useful, specially when doing Sahej paath. It is designed very well.Cons:Name of app should be changed. Without some one telling me about this app, it is impossible to guess that app is related to sikhi, Gurbani. While scrolling through app, ‘Micro media’ creates impression in mind that it is another media player. I recommend, humbly suggest adding ‘Gurbani’ in the app name.Line-by-line and by Shabad audio features is highly appreciated.Copy to clipboardNative iPad support.Some non-core user interface seems too busy and cluttered. Over use of icons requires some training. But, I liked it.Inclusion of user guide is helpful. It should not be needed if user interface is clean.Last visited page should be auto added to favorite for each bani.When punctuation option is enabled, can punctuation be added to gurbani line itself.

Can you allow "copy text" directly on iphone. Also few translations for banis from Dasam Granth are missing. If you could add those. Also it doesnt show the page number clearly when u search Bani. Thanks.

This app becomes most usable compare to other gurbani app. It covers most of the needs of Sikh to get closer to Guru Sahib. Guru Sahib blesses everyone and specially who puts effort to make this app happen.Features need in future updates:* Need share button/option of Shabad of “adaptive (default) view”. So that shabad can be shared.* Need larivaar feature just like AdiGranth Sahib.
- Auto Scrolling made much more user friendly
- New Profiles for specific users having limited knowledge of Gurmukhi and Punjabi but familiar to some other particular languages and scripts to make the most Isher Micro Media
- Bugs fixed in Gurbani Kosh sections as well as linking of Gurbani Words to all Koshes provided in Isher Micro Media improved a lot
- General Bug Fixes and improvements
