Genie Photo is a powerful image editor for Mac and iPad, built for people who want serious photo editing, painting, vector, and compositing tools in a familiar, straightforward workflow.
Work with layered documents, make precise selections, paint and retouch with customizable brushes, create editable text and vector artwork, apply adjustments and effects, and open or export a wide range of image formats.
LAYERS AND COMPOSITING
Build documents with raster, object, vector, text, adjustment, and grouped layers. Reorder, hide, duplicate, mask, clip, blend, and edit layers independently.
Genie Photo supports layer and object blend modes, layer masks, Quick Mask, opacity controls, adjustment layers, nested groups, and reusable filter stacks.
PAINTING AND RETOUCHING
Paint with brushes, pencils, airbrushes, markers, calligraphy tools, erasers, and more.
Customize hardness, flow, spacing, scatter, angle behavior, smoothing, velocity response, build-up, and other brush controls. Create brushes from images or selections, and import Photoshop ABR brushes on Mac.
On supported iPads, Apple Pencil features include pressure sensitivity, tilt-based brush sizing, barrel-roll rotation, and hover previews.
SELECTION TOOLS
Use rectangular and elliptical marquees, freehand and polygon lassos, Magnetic Lasso, Magic Wand, Select Subject, Quick Mask, feathering, inversion, and more.
VECTOR DRAWING AND SHAPES
Create and edit Bézier paths, lines, rectangles, ellipses, stars, polygons, and other vector shapes without rasterizing them.
Quick Process and Shape Processor can create repeated, offset, rotated, scaled, flipped, and transformed variations while keeping vector artwork editable.
TEXT AND TEXT ON A PATH
Create editable text with control over font, size, color, alignment, and layout. Text can follow circles and elliptical paths, and live text can be converted to editable Bézier outlines.
SVG IMPORT AND EXPORT
Open and export SVG files while preserving editable vector content wherever possible.
Genie Photo SVG files can preserve layers, nested groups, object and layer blend modes, masks, transforms, vector text-on-path information, and other document structure. Imported SVGs can retain vector paths, groups, layers, embedded images, transforms, masks, opacity, and supported blend modes.
SVG files remain standards-based for use in compatible vector editors such as Inkscape.
PHOTO EDITING AND EFFECTS
Crop, resize, rotate, flip, straighten, adjust color and tone, work with gradients, and apply a wide range of effects and filters.
Correct and edit perspective on image objects. Reorder filter stacks or enable and disable individual filters while keeping the original layer editable.
Texture effects include canvas, paper, fabric, concrete, brick, burlap, and imported custom textures. Genie Photo also supports imported LUTs.
MODERN IMAGE FORMATS
Open and export formats including JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, WebP, JPEG XL, SVG, and PDF.
Genie Photo also supports Camera RAW and modern Apple image formats through the system image pipeline, high-bit-depth images, HDR and extended-range content where supported, embedded color profiles, and transparency.
TEXT RECOGNITION
Recognize selectable text in photographs, screenshots, scans, receipts, signs, and other images without altering the document.
MADE FOR MAC AND IPAD
Use a mouse and keyboard on Mac or work directly on the canvas with touch and Apple Pencil on iPad.
