The packing list you build once and use forever. Reuse it every trip, organise by category or bag, tick off as you pack.
I built PackRight for myself and used it for two years, on every trip, before putting it on the App Store. I didn't want an app charging me just to make my own lists and categories. That's why every feature is free: no limits, no subscription. The only thing you pay for is optional ready-made lists, and only if you want them.
WHAT IT DOES
Build a list for a trip, with dates. Add items with quantities, sort them into categories, and assign them to the bags they will actually travel in, so when you are standing at the wardrobe you can pack one bag at a time instead of the whole trip at once.
Check items off as they go in, and watch the progress bar close. Master Lists are the reusable version: save "Ski Trip" once and clone it every winter instead of rebuilding it from memory.
Back everything up to your own iCloud Drive and restore it on a new phone. The restore merges rather than overwrites, so nothing you added since the backup is lost.

Twenty-six trip lists and five add-on kits - 31 in all, 1,199 items between them, written for real trips rather than padded out: beach, city breaks, business travel, conferences, skiing, hiking, cruises, festivals, road trips, camping, theme parks and travelling with a baby. The add-ons: international flight, cold weather, hot weather, first aid, photography, bolt onto any list rather than replacing it.
Four are free: Weekend Getaway, Basic Beach Trip, Gym Bag Essentials and Family Day Trip. Start there and see what they are like before spending anything.
The rest are $1.99 each, or $9.99 unlocks all of them, including any added later. Purchases are held by Apple against your Apple Account, so Restore Purchases brings them back on a new device. These are one-time purchases, not a subscription: buy a list once and it is yours to keep.
PRIVACY
Your lists never leave your device unless you back them up to your own iCloud Drive. There are no accounts, no sign-in and no email address to hand over. The app sends anonymous usage counts, which features get used, and where errors happen, and never sends the names of your lists, items or bags.
