Sym Breathing uses a 5.5-second inhale and 5.5-second exhale, approximately 5.5 breaths per minute. The app keeps the rhythm for you, so you can focus on breathing instead of counting seconds or watching a clock.

DAILY AFFIRMATIONS

LISTEN TO YOUR OWN AUDIO
Keep listening to music, ambient sounds, podcasts, or other audio while you breathe. Adjust the breathing cue volume independently to create the experience you prefer.
COHERENT BREATHING
Slow, balanced breathing practices are commonly used for relaxation, mindfulness, stress management, and supporting autonomic regulation. Research has also explored resonant breathing in relation to heart rate variability, or HRV.

I used breathwork apps before and they were too distracting and busy. This one is simple and streamlined, and I actually enjoy using it. The audio overlaps the audio from other apps on my phone, so I can practice my breathwork while listening to my programs. I have seen a noticeable improvement in my overall ability to react to stressful events and thoughts as a result of this breakwork. Highly recommend!

This breathing app is elegantly streamlined and very easy to pick up and use without changing 15 different settings. I find myself using the app often because of accessibility and ease of use. I also utilize the app in my practice as a physical therapist while prescribing diaphragmatic breathing. The simple and effective cues the app uses has enabled patients to retrain their breathing quickly and effectively.

I’ve used this app several times when faced with a possible panic attack or while having strong anxiety. It’s been a game changer with how quickly I can get into the breathing exercise and then quickly calm down. If you have anxiety and need a tool to help relieve some of it then you should try this app.
