The app is convenient when you don’t have cash handy. The only things stopping me from rating them 5 stars is: 1) people cant transfer you money. 2) you get charged twice for fees. Once by your financial establishment and again by the app. 3) the app still has bugs. I understand the app is still under development but basic functions like leaving feedback or contacting support should be accessible through the app.

Having spent a considerable amount of time in Vietnam without a VN bank account, the inability to pay by QR will get stop you in your tracks unless you have plenty of cash. This app is an absolute game changer. Almost anyone, businesses or people In VN take pay by QR and it will save you trips to the ATM which may or may not charge you all kinds of fees, in addition to the fees from your own bank. The small amount you are charged to have some cash available as pay by QR as your back up will make your time in VN so much easier. Next Moreta, figure out a way to make it possible to add my moreta account to Apple Pay wallet as a VN card. You’ll have it all at that point!

I’ve used this on numerous occasions in Ha Noi, remote areas of Mu Cang Chai, Da Nang and other cities too. Easy to top off with credit card for instant transaction and even easier to scan and pay. Even when the QR networks in Vietnam stalled and transactions were pending for a long time, the WhatsApp support group has been SUPER QUICK and reliable and huge shout outs to Walid for helping me out with the processing delays and giving me insight into why the transactions were processing for a long time (not a fault of Moreta). Because of him my trust and satisfaction of using this app is the highest it’s ever been for any financial app. Great support (rare to find), great app and does what it promises it does!

I recently visited Thailand and Vietnam and used Moreta Pay for the first time. I was able to use it more widely in Vietnam at many stores, shops, and pharmacies. It wasn’t accepted everywhere but in general was a helpful tool to have. In Thailand it was much harder to find establishments where it worked, but it did work for me at a yogurt shop (but not at a 7/11 which I found weird). Works especially well for those with a US bank account. For Americans visiting Vietnam I would highly recommend Moreta.
