I used this for my sister now keep in mind that she has much more going on than just being deaf as she has other severe disabilities. She got very upset when I was using this app it made her feel dumb for not being able to just talk normally. I have learned for my situation it’s better to help show you the words and you sign them. I think that app has a great start and that they just need to make it so that the deaf can sign to the app and translate to text.
Super good!!!

I love using this app because its free!! And it helps me learn a lot of sign language because i like to include people and it has made learning sign language way easier. I am also Brazilian so thank goodness that they have a Brazilian sign language. This app is a little fast when it comes to being a beginner, but they do have a slower button which really helps. They should make little arrows when the hand is moving to indicate how they are doing it. But over all this app is really good

This is a great tool, but it misses a lot of basic ASL structure in addition to sometimes the avatar simply doesn’t sign the most important word! So this is unreliable. It simply gives you the gestures in order of the words you typed in. But ASL often uses a different structure. Also signers will choose a known gesture for a word It doesn’t have an existing gesture for. But this app just finger spells any word it doesn’t have a gesture for. There’s a lot of nuance and my oversimplification here is debatable and would be much better addressed by an established person of the ASL community, which I am not.So in short, have fun with this app and it will give you a great base. But be aware this is not the way most ASL users would translate your spoken sentence. Though in a pinch, you will be understood. Frustratingly I have seen the avatar drop some of the most important words. I look forward to the continuing improvement of this app

I am deaf. When I downloaded this app. I am exciting and curious about it. I test myself to type to see this “Cartoon Interpreter” can sign language. Most of their sign language are not complete. Not at all if I type simple sentences like for example, “Hey babe, I am sorry” his interpret say “hey, I am sorry”. A lot missing in sentences. He use libra sign language in America sign language which is conflict. For example, I type “T” he sign libra sign language but didn’t proper sign in America. Obviously their sign language and app are strongly use to libra and not America. I am America and I had no choice to uninstall app. Only if you add proper right America sign language and America “FAQ” or every words relate to America I will install.
