more Exactly what I want as a maker. Allows me to create exactly what I want using common methods in CAD. The price range is perfect and gives you multiple options. I have ran into a glitch here and there, but it looks like updates are pretty frequent so I’m not too worried about that. Looking forward to seeing how the software develops.
Developer Response Thank you! Glad it’s hitting the mark for you 🙌I’m working on fixing those glitches and improving things constantly, thank you!

I recently wrote review and I think it was just my mistake of not saving file. I have noticed a couple updates since I first used this and they are much appreciated. Best one so for is the selection option to accurately select a point you want to edit.

Subscribed for a year to support this as the other options are just way too expensive for my that just want to play with some things on my RC planes or around home. I really like the approach and if this continues you have a long term customer.
Developer Response Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot 🙏

This app is well designed and works great even with 3rd party pencils. There is clearly a lot of passion put in to this app and is actively being supported and developed by the creator. Please continue the great work and I look forward to new features that put this app more on par with the PC modeling softwares.

TEXT IN SKETCHES
Add text to sketches and edit the font, cap height, alignment, and letter spacing in the sketch bar. Extrude text into raised letters or cut it as an engraving. Arrays and Mirror work with text too.
GROUPS
Organise solids into Groups in the Solids tab. Show or hide entire Groups and transform multiple solids at once. STEP imports now create Groups and preserve colours.
FACE COLOURS
Apply colours to individual faces of a solid.
SMARTER SKETCH SNAPPING
Get guides from nearby geometry and visible solid edges, tangent snaps to circles, and parallel or perpendicular snaps to lines as you sketch.
PERFORMANCE
Faster rendering for large models and previews.
FIXES
Dimension labels stay closer to their geometry. Circles keep their size when released on a line through their centre. Tool options bars no longer block drawing underneath.
OTHER IMPROVEMENTS
Negative lengths, angles, and depths now work in the opposite direction.
Copy and paste sketch geometry within a sketch, between sketches, or as a new sketch.
3.0.5 2d ago
New
- 3D Linear and Circular Arrays (Pro). Sketch Arrays can also use a sketch line as their axis.
- Revolution: pick the axis from sketch lines, edges, round faces or the world axes. Try Up to Face (with an offset), Flip and turning both sides.
- Fit to View button next to the shaded-with-edges toggle: zooms and pans to show every visible solid and sketch without turning the view. It keeps clear of the toolbar and open panels.
- Hidden solids stay out of your Features. Extrudes, cuts and the like only use the solids you can see, and a note tells you how many were left out. Editing a Feature shows what it was built with.
- Loft between profiles with holes keeps the result hollow. Mismatched holes show a clear error.
- Export dialog redesigned: pick a format, set its options and choose which bodies to export. Export errors are now reported instead of looking like a success.
- Mac: each Document opens in its own window, and ⌘W asks Save / Don't Save / Cancel when there are unsaved changes.
- iPad: each window opens its own Document, and Open in New Window makes another.
- The app is now in German, French, Italian and Japanese, and Spanish and Portuguese CAD terms are improved.
- The app follows the editor's light or dark theme everywhere: windows, sheets and menus.
Improved
- iPad runs much cooler: the 3D view only draws when something changes, and sketches with many constraints are far lighter to draw.
- Big parts edit far faster. Extruding many pads onto a part and Linear Arrays of it no longer take minutes or hang.
- Fillet and Chamfer work where they end on a round face's seam. Their previews show only the new faces.
- Faces that couldn't be hovered or picked (for example after two Extrudes merged and another Feature split them) can be picked again.
- Dragging the Extrude or Extruded Cut arrow through the sketch reverses the direction. Dragging the Revolution handle back past the profile flips the turn.
- Editing a Feature whose sketch profile was split now selects the pieces and keeps the profile's name. Picking a profile in an open Revolution no longer loops.
- Boolean dialog: grouped solid pickers with clear buttons, and Target and Tools for Difference.
- Array dialog: grouped direction cards, a flip button and a new axis selector.
- Dialogs fit the window and scroll inside instead of scrolling the page.
- Sketch: a dimension can be deleted from its pill or the numpad. A value the sketch can't take is refused instead of breaking an Angle.
- Sketch: a selection's ⋯ menu stays on screen near the edges and follows the view while you pan. Right-clicking a solid's edge or vertex opens the menu where you clicked.
- Sketch: small circles are round from the moment you draw them.
- Sketch: stepping through overlapping lines changes only the line shown and keeps the rest of your selection.
- Opening a sketch on a top or bottom face turns the view so the sketch's Y axis points up.
- The origin gizmo draws under your sketches and never covers the origin point.
- Icon-only tool sidebars show a tooltip after a tap instead of flashing labels.
- The camera view selector no longer clips long labels, and Cancel and Apply on the dimension pill are icons.
- The STEP import panel on Mac is titled Import STEP File.
- Alerts have a refreshed look.
Good to know
- Documents saved by this version can't be opened by 3.0.3. Older Documents are updated when opened.
3.0.4 Oct 21
NEW
- Section View: cut the solids with one plane, placed like a Construction Plane. Each cut is filled with its solid's color, hatched and outlined
- Number Entry in Settings → General: type numbers, or enter them on the numpad. Automatic types while a keyboard is connected
- iPad: keyboard shortcuts work with a hardware keyboard, Universal Control's included
IMPROVED
- iPad: dialogs, dimension edits and the Parameters panel take typing from a keyboard
- iPad: a mouse or trackpad previews snaps and splines while it hovers, and its right button never picks
- iPad: dimension text is the same size as on the Mac
- A STEP file of many bodies imports in seconds
- Quick Look thumbnails fill the whole thumbnail on Retina displays
FIXED
- Gizmo handles highlight under a hovering mouse again
- A point can be dragged the moment the pointer reaches it
- Dragging a dimension label that sits on sketch geometry moves the label, not the geometry
- Hovering a face after one of no area highlights its own edges
- Linear dimensions no longer draw a stub behind arrows pointing in
3.0.3 Oct 15
NEW
- Spline Tool: draw a spline in one stroke, or point by point. Drag, add and remove handles, switch between fit and control points, constrain and trim it. A stroke that ends where it began closes the spline
- Editable arrays: Edit Array reopens an array's tool to change its sources, guide, count, spacing, angle and direction after it's made. A fillet on a source is made on every copy, and copies follow a trimmed source
- Camera: Perspective and Orthographic projections, an Isometric view that frames the solids, and animated switches between them
- Sketch: angles between rays, and the distance between two lines
- Quick Look: .part3d files show their thumbnail in Finder and Files
- Native name prompt for a document's first save and for renames
- Help opens the online manual
IMPROVED
- Settings redesigned with tabs of grouped rows. Zoom range and the projection are now settings
- Opening a sketch frames what is drawn on it, including dimension labels, clear of the tools panel. Leaving a sketch resets the view. Both can be turned off in Settings
- Opening a sketch no longer warns that editing it is experimental
- Circles, arcs and ellipses in sketches stay smooth at any zoom
- Document panel: Edit and Redefine close it, and cancelling a delete keeps it open
- Parameters: a new parameter's name is selected, ready to type over, and Return creates it
- Documents reported for a problem open the way the version that saved them built them
FIXED
- Trim: a line dimensioned to a parallel line can be trimmed, and its dimension is kept
- Trim: a dimension to a trimmed line stays on the piece it measures to, and goes when that part is removed
- Spanish and Portuguese: the alerts for sending a Document to the developer and for Features that failed to build are translated
3.0.2 Oct 13
PARAMETERS
Name your key measurements once and reuse them everywhere. Change a Parameter and your whole model updates.
Create Length, Angle and Number Parameters, and build them from each other with simple formulas.
Link any Feature field or sketch dimension to a Parameter, or turn an existing value into one.
Delete a Parameter and everything that used it keeps its value.
SKETCHING
Sketch on solids: snap to the edges, corners and circle centers of the solids you can see. Your sketch follows them when the model changes.
Project from Solid brings in edges that stay up to date with the solid.
Sketching on a face now starts with a clean sheet, with the face outline shown as a guide.
Sketches now appear in the History, so you can edit or delete them there. Opening one shows the model as it was at that point.
New sketch Tools: Slot, Circular Array, Linear Array, Mirror, Fillet, Offset and Trim, with step-by-step guidance.
Select several sketch items at once by dragging a box, then move or delete them together.
Tap a constraint icon to see which geometry it controls.
New horizontal and vertical distance dimensions, and Tangent and Distance between arcs and circles.
Fully constrained geometry now has its own color, so it is easy to see what is still free to move.
Cleaner dimensions that no longer cross their own text.
A new bar at the top of the screen replaces the Editing Sketch dialog and gives you more room to draw.
MODELING
Extrude and Extruded Cut can now stop at another face (Up to Face).
Extruded Cut can now cut all the way through.
Move and rotate Transform and Clone results with the Construction Plane handles.
Deleting a Feature now removes only that Feature.
Select a solid in the Document tree to see its volume and area.
IMPROVEMENTS
New setting to turn off smooth camera movement.
Tooltips on the bottom bar buttons.
If a file fails to open or the app crashes, you can now send your file to the developer.
Restore your work after a crash.
Older files are updated automatically when opened.
FIXES
Deleting or trimming sketch geometry no longer leaves stray points behind.
Offsets of a face outline now follow the face when it changes.
The recover unsaved work message now appears only once.
FIXES - v3.0.1
New Pan speed and Zoom speed settings.
Rotate a sketch's reference image. It snaps to 15° steps on the grid, or to a right angle off it.
Fillet and Chamfer now start at 1 mm.
Numpad: turn a negative value positive, and enter negative inches as fractions.
Line, Circle and Arc reuse a point you snap to instead of adding a second one on top of it.
A Coincident between two end points now makes them one point, and Merge Points removes the Coincident it replaces.
Box select picks the end points where several points sit on the same spot.
Offset treats points joined by a Coincident as one corner, so the whole chain offsets together. The same goes for a Slot's centerline.
Offsetting a circle or arc shows its Offset dimension, which can use a Parameter.
The Offset distance label sits beside the flip button instead of under it.
Linear dimension labels too wide for their gap move outside the extension lines.
Snapping keeps up better while you move the pointer.

3.0.0 Oct 9
New since 2.4.7
CONSTRUCTION PLANES
- Create planes from an Origin Plane, another Construction Plane, or a planar face, then position and rotate them with precise controls or the viewport gizmo.
- Existing offset planes and face-based sketches remain compatible when opening older projects.
- Keep plane visibility choices while modeling; Clear in the plane picker deselects the current plane.
- On iPad, Construction Plane names accept text input correctly.
HOLE AND THREAD
- Hole and Thread points now detect which side of a sketch plane contains material and aim the drill into it.
- See each point’s direction in the viewport and flip one point or all points. Apply is unavailable when a point has no material in its current direction.
SHELL
- Adjust wall thickness by dragging the viewport gizmo.
- Shell thickness now defaults inward. Negative thickness grows inward while preserving the outside size; positive thickness grows outward.
SKETCH EDITING
- When leaving a sketch with unapplied changes, choose whether to save and leave or discard them.
NAVIGATION AND INTERACTION
- On macOS, use trackpad gestures to orbit, pan, and zoom. On desktop, Shift + right-drag pans.
- Dialogs can be dragged immediately without a press-and-hold.
PROJECT NAMES
- Renaming a project in the editor updates the name shown in the gallery. Renaming from the gallery updates both the project name and the .part3d filename.
2.4.8 Sep 29
- Fix a crash when opening external files (iCloud, Mail, AirDrop)
- Show Part3D files in "Files" app
2.4.7 Sep 24
