Hi, this app has been on my iPad for quite some time. No issues. Today I used it after a recent update and there is a button that says export, but when I press export I have to pay and I am not allowed to pay.

Hi! Hello there, yes, just as you said, some features of the Audio Converter do require a membership to use. A lot of friends have also asked me about this. 😅 It’s not that Jimmy has gone bad—it’s more of a last resort...As for not being able to pay, it probably happened when you updated the app while the App Store was still reviewing the “subscription pricing.” You just happened to get stuck during that review window. But now everything is back to normal.⭐️⭐️ At first, I made this app just so it’d be easier for my family to use. I had tried a few similar apps on the market—each with its own pros and cons. Since I work in tech myself, I decided to combine the strengths of different apps and, with my modest design and coding skills, developed Audio Converter. After releasing it, I was really touched by the amount of support it received, since it genuinely helped a lot of people.At the beginning, I thought this would just be an ordinary utility app launch, but I never expected so many stories to start from it.⚫️😥 But once things started to pick up, the first thing I faced was copycats. This is probably something every product creator has to go through. At first there was just one copycat, then two, then three… even my developer name was copied with almost the exact same spelling. At the beginning, I reported it to Apple, hoping they would do something, but it didn’t help. Later, after hearing from another developer who knew those people, I finally understood the real reason. Originally, the audio format conversion market was dominated by just a few big players. Then I came in with a free and easy-to-use app, and suddenly became the “catfish” in the pond, affecting their traffic.That was a lesson for me—not to go head-to-head with them, otherwise I’d risk being deliberately targeted or attacked.👨‍💻💰 When I first launched, the app was very simple, with only basic format conversion features. Later, I gradually added more efficiency and practical functions. I don’t do this full-time, so I can only work on it after my day job, sometimes on weekends too—replying to users, iterating, and optimizing new features (just like I’m doing right now).As the app got more popular, the cash 💰 and time 🕐 costs also kept going up. Running purely on passion alone just isn’t realistic, so I added a single ad, hoping to recover a bit. Yes, just one ad—because I wanted everyone to still have a good experience without too much disturbance. But honestly, the revenue from one ad a day is really tiny.💬☀️ Finally, here are my thoughts on “value.” Can something completely free really be good enough, and sustainable? I want this to be a pure tool to help people solve problems. But the truth is, people expect better quality and better experience from good products, and developers also need more motivation to keep making good software. So I hope we can create a positive cycle: Paid tool → Developer improves → Better user experience.🌻 For the first membership pricing, I wanted to keep it as cheap as possible, so it’s easy to accept. Just think of it as buying me a milk tea 🧋 or a burger 🍔.
