Our Community… The Backstory to Ball Guys Stumble & Fall
Ball Guys was launched as a 3-week old prototype in October 2024. Inspired by our incredible Discord Community, the team at Half Moon Studios have done over 50 updates to “find the fun”. People told us to add Skins, so we did. People demanded a level editor, so we gave it to them. And when we removed one of our accidents (the infamous Double Jump), people complained. So then we gave them 21 Powers to play with. Our latest minigame, “Merge Guys” has been all over TikTok. What’s next we wonder? Join our incredible community (not a cult!) at Discord.gg/Ballguys.

I’ve had the game pretty much since it came out and it has been great. The addition of lives for the level packs was an obvious cash grab. That’s fine, whatever. My main issue is that for months I’ve been trying to get a power up from the legendary chest that I cannot ever get to continue playing these levels. No matter how many merge guys or cannons I shoot I can never actually get the power up I need to progress. The power ups on the power ups page have a purchase option when clicked on, but I can never actually purchase them. Why is that even portrayed as an option? I have so many coins I don’t know what to do with that it would be great to just use the coins to get what I need to move on.

As an experienced QA Software Tester and somebody that has experience working in UX/UI design, this update is absolutely horrible for the user experience. There is a difference between monetizing and overkill. The ad’s make the game unbearable. Not only did they add an increasing amount of ads to the game, they also made merge ticket rewards in the cannon game obsolete. This is 1000% a money grab and it’s disappointing to see. As someone who genuinely enjoyed the game I sadly can’t play it anymore. It feels like developers only listen to the streamers. Streamers are getting paid by view count and receiving free tickets while never having to experience the ads that regular players do. If they did, they certainly wouldn’t be playing the game. If a developer is reading this, please take this review into consideration. I understand having to make money and on a free game that comes from ads, game passes, purchasing through gems/tickets/etc but this recent update is losing a lot of original players. The in game ads are going to burn people out and you’re going to lose players quickly. Sincerely a disappointed ball guys player who is stepping away from the game but leaving it downloaded in hopes of change

Hey, I downloaded this game about a month ago, and I really loved it. I made it to level 337 before the update, and I decided to restart my progress as suggested. What I loved most about this game was the accessibility and availability of the game, and being able to work at a level that you might not be able to get the first couple times while trying different things. However, the stamina system that you have implemented in the update has taken away that liberty. You need to be nearly perfect in every level if you want to play continuously without losing stamina at a quick rate. Also, I don’t really see a use for this new stamina system other than to hold players back from faster progression? If there is an important reason for this new addition, then please let me know. I still think that everything else in this update is great, and I love that you guys care for your game like this and I hope I could get some information back.

Honestly I play this game only cause it’s a time waster. If you actually pay attention while playing tho (I’m no expert but I can tell the very obvious difference) you’ll realize how bad the game actually is and that it only is know cause of TikTok. I have not once had a game/round I play where there isn’t a bug or problem with the game causing my gameplay and leaderboard possibilities to be straight slapped out of orbit cause the creator can’t debug or even give a proper update to fix the game. No, instead they come out with a new game on steam for obvious profit and now there game is starting to look more and more like Fortnite with their always expected, never failing bugs after bugs after bugs, and sadly as a last bit for the cherry on top is that the game is getting worse and worse recently with more bugs more often. Idk. You can play the game if you want but to me it’s no different than trying to play a game that never got fully released or finished and just got sold as a small dysfunctional indie game instead.
