Fixed: the Smarta Janmashtami date now follows the classical rule more precisely, correcting the 2021 date from August 29 to August 30 to match published Panchang references. Export → Share import link / QR now has a "with date of birth" option alongside "no date of birth," so someone importing your shared birthdays can get an entry that recomputes correctly for any year. Tithi: you can now add or correct the Gregorian date on an existing Tithi entry (not just when first adding it) — tap and hold an entry to edit, pick a date, and save. A big update for how — and where — you track the panchang. Map location: tap anywhere on a map to set your observance location, perfect when your town isn't in the list. We've also added 15 more US cities. Home & Away: set a second "Away" city and switch between the two. Birthday and saved-date reminders now call out the timing for both cities, so a celebration is never missed across time zones. Compare Panchang: a new screen shows exactly which days two cities' tithis fall differently in a year — handy for family spread across the world — and you can share it as a PDF. PDF export: choose a clean day-by-day List layout or the classic calendar grid, and export a full Samvat (lunar-year) panchang, with Adhika (leap-month) days clearly marked. Calendar: a quick grid/list view toggle and a tidier display-options control.

This update sharpens festival accuracy. Monthly (recurring) festival dates — Ekadashi, Ashtami, Sankashti, Purnima, Amavasya and the like — are now exact, even on the rare edge days where a tithi changes within seconds of sunrise (most noticeable at high latitudes). They now match the same reference Swiss Ephemeris that Drik Panchang uses, consistent with the rest of the panchang. Recurring festivals also show the correct lunar month, and the festival list and calendar no longer show a duplicate monthly tithi on a day that a named festival already falls on. Same features — more accurate festival dates.

This is a reliability and accuracy update. Fixed: for some users the My Dates / tithi page could come up blank and stay that way (even after updating). That's resolved — a saved date with a city the app no longer recognizes no longer stops the page from loading, and the page always finishes loading now. More accurate panchang: all calculations now match the reference Swiss Ephemeris used by Drik Panchang, verified across every supported city. Tithi, sunrise and sunset, lunar month, leap month (adhika), festival dates, and birth-time tithi are accurate to the minute. Added crash reporting so we can find and fix problems faster. Nothing to set up, and no personal information is collected.

New: choose your sunrise basis. Decide how sunrise is defined when the app works out the day's tithi — First Ray (when the sun's upper edge first appears, the default) or Center Disc (the sun's center, about a minute later). The choice is in Settings and on each Panchang tab, and applies everywhere: today's panchang, the calendar, festivals, reminders, and the printable PDF (whose header notes the basis used). On most days the two agree; on rare boundary days the slightly later Center Disc sunrise can fall on the next tithi. Your saved tithis remember the basis they were created with, so their meaning never changes when you switch the setting. Changing the basis reschedules your reminders right away. Festival and calendar links now carry the full view — year, month, city, Purnimant/Amant, and sunrise basis — so a shared link opens exactly what you intended. A link to a city the app doesn't support now opens your current city with a notice instead of failing silently. Long-press a city in the Recent list to remove it, with Undo.

Calendar day details now show sunrise, sunset, and the tithi transition time for the day — all in your chosen city's timezone. Show Festivals (in Settings) is now ordered through the year and labels each festival with its month and tithi (e.g. K.11), following your Purnimant/Amant preference. Frequent tithis (Ekadashi, Purnima, Amavasya, monthly Ashtami) and a duplicate Janmashtami are off by default — turn on any you want; your existing choices are preserved. The calendar now hides the generic monthly tithi on days when a named festival falls on it, and shows up to two saved dates per day. Swipe left or right on the calendar to change month. New: print or share a detailed calendar PDF — for the current month or the whole year — with each day's lunar month and tithi, the tithi transition time, sunrise/sunset, festivals, and your saved dates. Each day shows its actual timezone and UTC offset, so daylight-saving changes are clearly reflected. Choose whether to include festivals and your saved dates. Festival data was refined against the Kashmiri jantri: Zang Trayi is corrected to Chaitra Shukla 3, and duplicate or relative entries were removed. Under the hood: stricter location handling, so you never silently see another city's times.

Reminders are now reliable. We fixed issues where birthday/tithi and daily Vakh reminders could fire at the wrong time or not appear: reminders are now always scheduled in your device's local timezone, and if you save many dates the daily Vakh of the Day is no longer crowded out — your dates, festivals, and the daily Vakh are now balanced. Notifications also appear while the app is open. New: reminders for the regular calendar (Gregorian) date too, not just the tithi. Any saved date with a Date of Birth now also reminds you on its normal yearly date, with event-neutral wording that fits birthdays, anniversaries, and remembrances. A Feb 29 date is observed on Feb 28 in non-leap years. Fixed: for a date-only birthday on a day when the tithi changes, the saved entry now shows the correct before/after time, including changes that happen before sunrise. Existing entries correct themselves automatically. Easier date entry: the date field adds the "/" separators as you type, Save highlights any missing field, and a cleared or partial date can no longer be saved by mistake. You can now enter dates from year 1 onward (tithis are approximate before 1850); future dates are rejected. Export what you choose: the select/unselect picker now applies to every export option -- Full (with DOB), Tithi only, and Add to Calendar.

Fixed: deleting or editing a saved family tithi now affects the entry you actually selected. Because the list is ordered upcoming-first, a swipe-to-delete could previously act on a different entry, and a deleted tithi could reappear after syncing. Delete and edit are now reliable, and a deleted tithi stays deleted. More accurate birthday tithis across time zones: a birthday's tithi is now computed at the exact birth moment in the birth city's local time, including daylight saving -- fixing rare off-by-one cases for cities that observe DST and for births near midnight or a tithi change. If a date-only birthday spans a tithi change, the app now lists each possible tithi with its change time so you can pick the right one. Clearer city names: cities now show their region/country (e.g. Seattle, WA; Tokyo, Japan), so you always pick the right one -- and search matches the full name. The birth time also shows the city's timezone (e.g. 8:00 PM, CDT, UTC-5). Upcoming-first: your family tithis and the festivals list now show what's coming up on top, with recently passed dates moving to the bottom (the full year is still shown). iOS: tapping a shared birthday-import link or a notification link now opens the app directly. Android TV: smoother D-pad navigation with the native player on Google TV. Plus tidier, consistent Panchang and Festivals headers.

Share birthdays with family: in Panchang, pick names and share a single link (or QR). Tapping it imports those tithi birthdays — no account or setup needed, and your existing entries are kept. Hands-free with Siri (iOS): - "Ask Lal Vakhs a question" - "Open a Lal Vakhs verse" (Siri asks which Vakh number) - "Watch a Lal Vakhs video" (Siri asks which Vakh number) Daily Vakh: your "Category of the Day" reminder now plays a Vakh from that day's category -- just tap to watch.
