Broken App REVIEW ADJUSTED
Bumpy Shaw
Can’t get past the setup screen to actually use the app. Buttons don’t work and is greyed out. Right at the accessibility portion the continue button never pops up.Alright the developer/owner of the app was able to provide me with some assistance and unstuck me from where I was and this app does exactly what its supposed to do, fantastic job, just wish it was also on the iPhone as well!
Developer Response
Hi Bumpy, Accessibility is a requirement to paste text. The buttons appear once permissions are granted. The open settings should take you there directly. Please email me sarav@carelesswhisper.app so i can help you out here.
Best Dictation for Mac
ChuckTaylor1776
I am a avid user of dictation on my Mac using it every day, many times throughout the day and I found the Mac native dictation, albeit improved, still very limited, and also kept messing up a lot of words and I always had to go back and adjust things especially if it was more than one sentence. So I tested out the 5 popular dictation apps and this one is easily the best bang for your buck. It doesn't mess up my words, and I am able to add my own vocabulary/names. It allows you to do the key important things that the other dictation apps also allow you to do without all the extra transcription stuff and larger costs. If you want better dictation this is the app. I have no affiliation with this app or the developers… this is just a really good app.
Not cooked yet.
Mr. Archer
I really want to like this program. Really. But the way it works isn't very helpful. The quality of the transcription seems to be excellent. But the handling of punctuation leaves a lot to be desired, period. as you can see from the previous sentence. The program seems to bundle up a few seconds of audio. The program tunes to bundle up a few seconds of audio. and then transcribe it. The transcription itself goes very quickly. But it should be able to do that on smaller sections of audio. Also, comma, it should not be guessing your punctuation. This makes it useless for writing. This program is, I think, off to a good start. But it needs a lot more refinement. I'm not asking for a budget version of Dragon from this, comma. But it can get closer. I'm looking forward to trying it in the future. when it is closer to complete.

Hi Archer,I believe you have the chunked transcription turned on(this is still in beta and hence marked so). Once you turn off you wont see this issue and if you do please email me sarav@carelesswhisper.app.
I don't understand it
AppleCoreReviews
This review was made with Apple's sequoia dictate built into the OS. I can see what I'm typing in real time whereas this program I have to wait for transcription. I tried the real time transcription and it was horrible. It did not get things correct. So why would I spend $20 for something that's already built into the OS? I'm not using my hands at all to type this review. I guess maybe if you have a Mac that doesn't support this feature and this program does then it would be very useful. You can also add custom words and transcribe files, which wasn't perfect, but did work if you needed those features, I guess it's OK. I use a different program for transcribing files personally so I will be removing this as it's functionality is basically built into the OS. And I did use the largest model as well.
