Altar is a prayer journal for people who want to pray with intention — and remember what they prayed for.
Write down what's on your heart, return to it, and watch a habit take shape. Every prayer you record stays with you, along with the days you brought it before God and the verses that carried you through.
A HOME FOR YOUR PRAYERS
Capture prayers as they come. Give each one a category — praise, confession, thanksgiving, intercession, healing, guidance and more — so your list stays clear instead of becoming a pile. Add a photo of the people you're praying for.
MARK THE DAYS YOU PRAY
One tap when you've prayed. Over time those taps draw a picture of your faithfulness: total days in prayer, your current streak, your longest streak, and the categories you return to most.
SCRIPTURE, RIGHT WHERE YOU PRAY
Four Bible translations are built in. Read, highlight in color anything that speaks to you, and keep every highlight in one place you can come back to.
PIN VERSES TO YOUR PRAYERS
Found a verse that belongs with something you're praying about? Pin it. It will be waiting on that prayer every time you open it.
ROOM FOR THE WHOLE STORY
A separate journal for the days words come easily and the days they don't. Dated, private, yours.
NEVER LOSE IT
Back up to iCloud or to a file you control, on a schedule you choose. Restore onto a new phone in a few taps.
REMINDERS THAT FIT YOUR LIFE
Set reminders for individual prayers so the things that matter don't slip past.
Altar has no feed, no followers, and no one reading over your shoulder. Just you, your prayers, and the time you give them.

Truly grateful for this app. Makes it so easy and consistent to review prayers and track prayer requests. Dope to look back at blessings being bestowed as you review "completed" prayers! Nice addition to my morning routine.

Altar is rebuilt for iPhone. Every screen is now drawn natively, so the app opens quicker, scrolls smoother, and feels at home on iOS.
BUILT AROUND YOUR ANSWERS
Altar asks a few questions about your prayer life, and what you say shapes the app:
• Reminders arrive in the voice you chose — gentle, a verse, your progress, or plain
• Pray now opens on a session the size of the time you said you have
• Home leads with the thing you said gets in the way
• Your first prayers are written for what's on your heart
• Scripture reminders quote the translation you actually read
• Say your prayers are just between you and God, and nothing suggests sharing them
Five of those answers can be changed whenever you like, in Settings › Personalization.
A QUIETER END TO A SESSION
"Amen" and your time now settle onto the screen itself, rather than arriving as a box on top of it.
ALSO NEW
• Mark a prayer answered and it shows on the record straight away
• Choose your session length, "no clock" included, right on the picker
• A new welcome, and three pages that introduce Altar before the questions begin
FIXED
• The keyboard no longer covers the button when you add a prayer
• Editing a prayer keeps the journal notes attached to it
• Ending a session mid-save no longer writes the note twice
