Ive been looking for an adventure game forever! Especially pixelated games. Endless Grades Pixel Saga is HAS to go in the hall of fame. It has amazing artwork, PERFECT music, and so on. I would give this a 6 out of 5 if I could. You can grind it all day if you wanted. One thing the developers can work on is, when I’m grinding the endless tower I always cannot stand the fact that I get stuck because the exit button isn’t working. It’s not my internet connection because I have full bars, but other than that it is the meta the PERFECT pixel adventure game.

Think endless runner and press button to make money games mashed together, with a 1990’s 16 bit rpg coat of paint on the result. Gameplay is your Valkyrie auto running around killing no name chumps, for maybe 15 seconds, until you activate the boss battle. Then you press the boss button and your team attacks the boss. This is also an auto battle. Boss is just a sexy anime monster with a name, 0 story, and after your team smashes the boss, it’s off to the loot screen to open chests. Chest opening is the real game, with lots of rpg loot everywhere, to level up your Valkyrie, and your team, and your skills. Opening chests also earns you higher level chests, so it’s chest-ception, with chests making more chests, all the way down! All the RPG elements are from the chests, there is no conventional leveling, all your teammates, levels, and equipment comes from chests and generic quests that just pop up in various screens as you plow through more and more levels. This game is way too easy and fast at the start I was level capping and ascending my heroes and Valkyrie so fast it’s insane. Graphics are nice, 16 bit anime wifus everywhere and a husbando every so often, if you like that, but no real story or gameplay, beyond loot simulator. It’s somewhat addictive but so empty of a lot of the rpg elements you might think would be in a game that looks like this.

This game has a nice feel and a lot of potential. Inspired by SNES and PS1 strategy JRPGs, it does a good job of combining their atmosphere with modern-day gacha sensibilities. However, it has a few glaring inadequacies that should be addressed ASAP. I am giving an honest review, listing pros and cons:Pros:-Gorgeous graphics — pixel art, but animated in a modern-day style.-Excellent character design. Very appealing from a visual standpoint.-Great strategic gameplay. There are so many options to assemble a team. Defensive and healing skills have to be carefully balanced with characters who have potential for high damage. Characters are well-balanced for the most part.Cons:-Lack of content. This is a massive one. I started less than two weeks ago, unlocking some features and having fun with the events. Now most of the events have ended. I expected new events to cycle in to take their place, but… that did not happen. The game currently feels like there’s very little to do.-No story whatsoever. There is a cryptic opening segment that leads to a little slime character teaching you how to play the game. That’s it. Absolutely nothing from there on. The characters and the game itself would be tremendously enhanced by some short story segments, or even something as simple as character bios.Without more content and some fleshing out of characters/story, I don’t believe this game will succeed. Other gachas simply offer much more.Full disclosure: I did make a purchase to support the game, because I hope it continues to develop and remedies these issues.

However, it is definitely pay to win. All about luck if you don’t. Not like ogre battle on n64 at all, that person clearly never played it. ( I own it). Don’t expect that type of gameplay. This is just 6 on 6, nothing new, no multiple teams or battles. Nor having them move across a map with turns. Also, get used to stronger players stealing your supplies. I check in settings under my avatar pic and there is discord and Facebook. I hit discord and nothing happens. I looked online for a link and could only find expired ones. Had to download Reddit to find it. Not great programming, only a cash grab, hence the need for new servers constantly. 85 servers last I played. Lol Onto the next don’t waste your time with this ad cash grab game. Boring and repetitive, takes 15 days to delete account. Shady
