Paper2Audio reads aloud your research papers, ebooks, web articles and text documents. Most text to speech apps read every page number, citation, broken table, and equation exactly as written. Paper2Audio is built to make complex documents listenable. Paper2Audio’s text to speech (TTS) technology intelligently skips clutter like page numbers and footnotes. It summarizes figures, tables, and math so you can focus on what matters. Convert your documents and pdfs to audio to turn your commute, workout, or chores into productive learning time by listening to your documents hands-free.
Key features:
• Supports PDFs, webpages, EPUBs, .docx, .txt, scanned documents and copy-pasted text
Turn your ebooks into audiobooks and your pdf to audio
• High quality text to speech voices
Enjoy natural text to voice with engaging and realistic voices that make hours of listening engaging and easy to follow, including for people with visual impairments or learning challenges like dyslexia or ADHD.

• Cuts junk text you don't want to hear (page numbers, references list, ads, etc.)
Our text reader skips the clutter and focuses only on the meaningful content
• Read along with the audio with Reader View
Reformats your documents for easier readability on small screens and shows images, math, formatting, and word-level highlighting in sync with the audio.

If you are looking for a text to audio conversion that you can download and keep on your phone with limits that don’t hinder your use, this is what you need. I’ve used it to convert Epubs to audiobooks to listen to at work and it works great. All auto generated voices are going to be slightly off but this is the closest I’ve found to real voice translation. I’d give it a rate of 97% perfect read through. Even gives slight inflections and modulation when reading through which makes it less robotic than usual AI voices. The ability to download and keep on the device without WiFi connection is the biggest win as others I’ve tried do a “live” conversion that requires internet. This app doesn’t have that. It has a limit of 56 hours a week(which would be roughly a dozen novels) in the FREE version you can convert, however you don’t loose previous conversions after you’re reset so you can build your library up slowly. Definitely recommending to anyone!

If you’re a teacher, this app will save you time
OgbertBogginsGoblinBlogger
As a teacher, I love Paper2Audio! It’s not hard these days to find lesson plans and supporting materials online that I could use in the courses I teach. In fact, it’s almost too easy; the limiting factor for me is really just the amount of time I’m able to put aside to actually evaluate all the options I find. With Paper2Audio, my workflow has changed radically though, and I now feel way more confident that the choices I make about my curriculum are well-informed, and that they incorporate the best possible resources for me and my students. I *strongly* recommend using this app if you’re a teacher with any interest in exploring new lesson plans and new materials to use in your classes. It’s a major time-saver and exactly what I needed to take my teaching to the next level.

Finally, an incredible, human-sounding text-to-audio app
SkiPro2035
I’ve tried basically every text-to-speech app out there, and Paper2Audio is the first one that actually sticks. Most readers drive me crazy because they read every single citation and page number out loud, but this one is smart enough to just skip the "junk" and focus on the actual story or research. What I love:• The voices are actually good. I can listen for hours without getting that "listener fatigue" you get from standard AI voices. It honestly feels more like a podcast.• It handles everything. I’ve thrown massive PDFs, EPUBS, and long web articles at it, and it hasn't choked once.• Reclaims my time. I’ve been "reading" while doing the dishes and driving to work. It’s the only way I’m actually getting through my reading list now.• Insane free tier. Usually, apps this good lock the best voices behind a huge subscription, but the free version here is incredibly generous. If you’re a student or just someone with a giant pile of articles you never have time to sit down and read, just get it. It’s easily the best productivity app I’ve downloaded this year.

A rare find — free, unlimited, and truly useful
Liam Blaine
I spent an entire day searching for a free text‑to‑speech app after nearly committing to a paid ElevenReader subscription. Finding Paper2Audio felt like striking gold — not only is it completely free, but it also allows unlimited file imports. As someone who struggles with solo reading, having my documents, books, and articles read aloud in clear, natural voices has been a game‑changer. The interface is simple, the playback quality is great for long listening sessions, and it handles different file types effortlessly. If you value accessibility, or just want a smooth, hands‑free way to consume content, I can’t recommend Paper2Audio enough.
