It really hard to make games with this app.All those buttons and buttons are so annoying to use plus there is no tutorial whatsoever, so you don’t know what any button does, and how to function anything! but on the bright side of other peoples games, that are really good are fun to play! so it’s like kind of bad and really good on the other side so I would recommend not making your own games and playing others
Developer Response
Thanks for your feedback. Game development can feel overwhelming at first, but help is available through the in-app tutorial, documentation, YouTube videos, community forum, and examples shared on the Hub. We encourage you to start with the in-app tutorial and explore a few Hub projects. We hope your journey into game development on iPad improves with these support systems and that you enjoy playing the amazing games made by our users.

With modern technology and regular updates by the dev team HyperPad is capable of what you'd expect from a full engine with a full programming language. As the popularity of the hub increases it becomes a good place to present game prototypes to an audience for feedback. The rapid nature and ease of understanding allows creative tinkering I was scared to do in syntax for fear of destroying my spaghetti monster. After a year I've designed a lot of various project types and system prototypes while having a lot of fun doing it. Hopefully more people see this for what it is: a fully capable engine that seamlessly integrates with the various applications necessary for game development while allowing for the relaxed creative feedback necessary for game feel and visual cohesion. What the devs have accomplished in improvements brings HyperPad up to speed with modern hardware. The platform is just waiting for new titles.

Thanks for sharing your feedback! We’re thrilled to hear the new intro tutorial felt clear and approachable—that’s exactly what we were aiming for. Making game development accessible is at the heart of what we do, so it’s awesome to know it’s working for you. Also, great to hear hyperPad runs smoothly on your 2018 iPad mini, even with those high-res animations! Performance is a huge priority for us, so this is fantastic news. Big shoutout for catching that audio bug—our team jumped on it right away, and we’re glad the follow-up video cleared things up. And you’re spot-on about the Hub: with fewer games right now, it’s a prime opportunity for new game devs to shine. We can’t wait to see what iOS games you build next—keep us posted by tagging us on socials!
Why do we need to pay just to make more games 😭

AM I DREAMING? (I’m not)

So this app is literally AMAZING! I’m someone who doesn’t understand python or html (only a little) or java script or ANYTHING. But with this, I can make my own platformer! Yet alone other games! Only problem is that to make more than one game, you have to get the full game which is 15 dollars (bit much), BUT OTHER THAN THAT, I LOVE IT!
Developer Response
Thank you! We are glad that hyperPad is helping you create games on iPad without needing to code. Starter lets you learn and build your first complete game project for free, while the full version unlocks full game development and publishing at a fraction of the lifetime cost compared to any other professional game development tool! We can’t wait to see what amazing games you make.
hyperPad just got a serious power-up. This update brings a completely reworked behaviour logic system under the hood, making iPad game development faster and smoother than ever. Experience up to 96× more objects at 60 FPS, reduced memory usage, smoother projects, new creator controls, and deep fixes across all hyperPad apps. If you are building 2D games, designing a music game, or prototyping a no-code app on the go, everything runs better.
Find new features like camera anchors, pixel-perfect font rendering, and enhanced text customization that'll give game developers and artists more flexibility than ever. Plus, dozens of bug fixes improve stability, animation workflows, physics reliability, editor usability, and cross-platform compatibility. It's a faster, cleaner, more reliable hyperPad ecosystem from top to bottom — the best way to make games on iPad.
New Features:
• The entire behavior logic system has been reworked behind the scenes, resulting in significant performance improvements and reduced memory usage.
• New language selection in user settings.
• Added camera anchors: adjust how the camera repositions itself when switching aspect ratios.
• You can now disable antialiasing for TTF fonts and BM fonts, allowing for crisp pixelated labels.
• Added ability to adjust text dimensions and alignment of TTFLabels on the fly in the Set Label behaviour.
• Rotate By, Skew By, and Scale By behaviours have been tweaked to allow multiple animations to run in parallel to match Move By behaviours.
• The Modify Array behaviour can now delete an element by value instead of index.
Bug Fixes:
• Fixed numerous memory leaks and improved overall stability.
• Fixed multiple crashes involving the Hub, animations, sound imports, bullets, menus, shaders, Socket.io behaviors, and spawned objects.
• Fixed Keyboard Shortcut behaviours, including arrow key shortcuts not triggering events.
• Fixed Shoot behaviours not working on scenery objects.
• Fixed bullets not firing when objects switched layers.
• Fixed physics attachments not persisting when object collisions were changed.
• Fixed spawned objects not being able to jump.
• Fixed Screen Wrap behaviours not working on spawned objects.
• Fixed Receive Message behaviours not working after switching scenes.
• Fixed global behaviours persisting between play sessions in the Hub.
• Fixed prefab issues, including blank prefabs and animated graphics displaying full spritesheets.
• Fixed shader properties carrying over between multiple objects.
• Fixed Alerts not appearing in exported projects.
Plus 25+ more fixes and improvements. View the complete changelog on our forum.
