At first it looks like a fun variation of Melvor, but then it starts to look more like a predatory toxic sibling 1. To make meaningful progress, you have to keep the app open 2. The progression curve is very fast in the beginning and gets extremely slow in the mid game. So at some point you end up just need to keep your phone on for hours at a time just to make a dent in your progress. Offline progression is very meaningless at that point 3. Monetization. - There are short auras you can get by watching adds, and the premium purchase does not remove them. It’s like paying for higher tier of Netflix and still having ads. - the game heavily incentivizes using gems (the premium currency). Do you want to keep the app open and click the same button for an hour, or do you just want to use two gems? While you get a lot of gems in the beginning, as your progress slows down, you barely get any. 4. Some mechanics just don’t make sense to me. Like auto-resurrection - once you unlock it, it’s so prohibitively expensive, that one use would cost hours of progress - and that’s exactly what happened to me once I accidentally used it. Sure, there are upgrades that eventually would make it more affordable, but why even have it in the beginning that it punishes you for using it? I seriously considered getting premium in the beginning just to support the dev, but having played a bit more it almost feels disrespectful to self to pay for something that doesn’t respect you
Hey there! To answer your comments:1. There has been a massive buff to the offline progression recently, so feel free to update your app to the latest version (1.49.1). You no longer need to keep your phone on to have the same online progression. 2. The progress slows down, but I wouldn't say it's extremely slow. Once you enter the midgame, there are lots more different types of upgrades that you can upgrade, like sigils, additional MP boosts, gem upgrades, farming pets, blessings, achievements, etc. All these will help increase your progression but you will need to unlock more in order to progress faster.3. You earn many more gems once you enter the late game. During the mid game, gem progression slows down because you earn fewer levels, but once you increase your luck level, unlock some charms, and the enhanced gem trigger upgrade, you will earn many gems per day, and purchasing gems is never required. 95% of our players are purely F2P. Furthermore, if you choose to purchase premium and support the game, you can access trading and can sell items to other players for Gems. This is a way of farming items for other players to earn gems for yourself!4. Perks like auto resurrection are expensive at first, but you are supposed to upgrade the MP upgrades further. You don't need to use the perk right away, you can unlock the upgrades over time. The game has been balanced to respect your time and support F2P players well, as evidenced by our massive F2P community. I hope that these can resolve any of your concerns, and keep in mind that Harpagia is a grindy game. You shouldn't expect to have all the upgrades unlocked within your first few weeks, or even your first few months. Hope you enjoyed the game otherwise!
