Direct2Go
Find your way without barriers
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad
New: Ride along. Watch your route roll by as scenery, with height, gradient and speed. And the map now searches everything in view.
Direct2Go helps you find places you can actually use: wheelchair toilets, step-free entrances, automatic doors, lifts, ramps, disabled parking, adult changing places, accessible showers, hearing loops and many more features.
You are not looking for "a restaurant". You are looking for a restaurant you can get into, with a toilet you can use.
THE MAP
• Places around you, with their accessibility features.
• Search what’s in view: the list shows what is on your screen, the map shows every place in groups. Narrow it with Range (500 m–10 km) and filter by category and feature.
• Tap the crosshair in the middle of the map to pick an exact spot, even without a pin — then share it or navigate to it.
SEARCH
• By name, address or keyword, also by voice.
• Find AED, Find toilet, Find disabled parking: you do not need to open Direct2Go first — press and hold the Direct2Go icon on your Home Screen and pick one. You get the nearest registered place straight away, with a clock direction and distance, on the map.
WITHOUT INTERNET
• AEDs and toilets are stored on your iPhone, so Find AED and Find toilet answer even without a connection, with the date of the data shown.
• Under Offline data you can download any other category and see how much space it takes. The app keeps everything current once a day, only with internet. You decide what stays.
• The map background does need internet; without a connection the list becomes the main screen.
DETAILS AND ACTIONS
• Four tabs per place: About, Facilities, Hours and Ratings.
• Opening hours with live status: "Closes in 25 min", "Opens tomorrow at 09:00". The whole week in one table.
• Ratings with a star breakdown.
• Navigate to or share a place with Apple Maps or Google Maps — your choice.
• Add a missing place or correct a wrong detail.
WHAT'S AROUND ME
• Pick a category and a distance up to 500 metres; the app warns you as you get close — with a sound, a spoken sentence or vibration only.
• Alerts name the category, a clock direction and the distance: "Toilet — at 2 o'clock — 80 m".
• Works walking, in a wheelchair, on a bike and in the car. Pocket mode: phone in your pocket, screen locked, alerts keep coming.
GPX ROUTES
• Import a GPX file from any route planner, or share it straight to Direct2Go.
• "My routes" keeps your rides: distance, climb, estimated time, elevation profile and waypoints.
• Ride along: watch the route roll by before you go, with height, gradient and speed.
• The route you had open is back next time you open the app.
• Optional spoken guidance on the way, with the screen off if you like.
• Filter places along the route: a toilet three kilometres off your path is no use to you.
DIRECT2GO ROUTES
• Download routes checked by a person; you see who, when and what was surveyed: surface, width, kerbs, gates, benches.
• What is not listed was not checked — which is not the same as "absent".
FOLLOW ME
• Share a link with the people close to you: they see your position, progress and estimated arrival in a browser, without an app or account. You decide when it starts and stops; nothing is kept afterwards.
EVERY DAY
• Home address and a "Home" button: one tap to head home.
• Choose which voice the app uses and how fast it speaks.
• iPhone and iPad, light and dark mode, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver.
• A complete guide is in the app, under About.
PRIVACY
Direct2Go contains no trackers and no analytics. Your location is used to show places around you and to guide you — it is sent to a server only if you start "Follow me" yourself, and it disappears when you stop. Sign in with Apple is optional.
AN HONEST NOTE
The accessibility data comes from people, not from an algorithm. A feature may be wrong or may have changed since it was recorded, and offline data can be older than you think — which is why its date is shown. Report a mistake in the app and it is corrected for everyone. For routes, the app never promises that a whole route will suit you.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
This update brings Ride along, a new way of searching the map and a redesigned Design & Audio screen.
RIDE ALONG
• See a route before you go: it rolls by as scenery, with the real height, the gradient at that point and your speed. Find it under Elevation profile: "Ride along the elevation".
• Start, pause, jump back or drag along the route bar — from real time (×1) to a hundred times faster.
• Choose how you travel: Wheelchair, Handbike or bike, Walking or Running, and your pace on the flat. Uphill is slower, just as in the estimated time.
• Four sceneries (Polder, Forest, Simple, High contrast), gradient colours on the road, hectometre posts and, if you like, spoken gradients — the same ones navigation announces.
• Elevation profile now comes straight after Route in the route details.
SEARCH WHAT’S IN VIEW
• The map now searches what you see: pan or zoom, and the list shows the places in view. Every place is on the map, grouped together; the list shows the nearest 200.
• Range: show only places within 500 m, 1, 2, 5 or 10 km of the crosshair. The map zooms to that circle, and the circle moves along when you pan.
• Prefer a fixed search radius? Turn off Search what’s in view under Settings ▸ Search radius. You pick the distance there from the same steps, and Show circle works in both modes.
MAP AND LIST
• The crosshair always sits in the middle of the visible part of the map, and a selected place stays in view above the list.
• Map and list stay in step when you pick a place, on iPad too.
• The location button brings you into view in one smooth movement.
• Tapping a map button no longer also opens the place name underneath it.
• Places stay on the map while loading, and loading is faster.
DESIGN
• Appearance (Light, Dark, System), Map style and Pocket mode brightness each have their own screen with a preview, under Settings ▸ Design & Audio.
• Home Address shows your home on a small map.
ON THE WAY
• During a guided ride, What’s around me switches on by itself, only for places along the route.
• Follow me: see how many of the 5 places are in use, and make a new follow link without stopping your ride.
• Trial, off by default: roundabouts and street names, and surface and obstacles, in the guidance of Direct2Go routes.
