Update: As if it couldn’t get any better, the devs have continued to update and expand the game with new content keeping the ball-combining-fun fresh and interesting. They have also over the past months promptly addressed any/all issues or concerns (such as with some controls). (Original) This game is great. There are a ton of characters that unlock as you play and I love how they each can dramatically change how the game is played. I also really appreciate the level variety. I have played many rogue-likes and one of my complaints of those (like slay the spire for example) is a lack of this. I just wanted to note there are no in-app purchases except to buy the full game. (I was a little worried when I saw the label for in-app purchases.)

I’ve played this death on PC and was super excited to play on mobile. And while the great game play loop,is still there, the mobile controls for aiming are just ok. You fine tune the sensitivity which helps, but ultimately can get you into a bad spot. For me there is major sound bug, where there is no sound until you start a level and then has a weird atmospheric music overlayed the game music. Also the mobile left stick seems to jump to a new place after a level up. I hope the controls improve and the bugs are fixed, because this would be a great game to take on the go.Edit: the bugs above have been patched! Unfortunately I have encountered a new one when you use the Shade in combo with the jester. The aiming circle defaults to moving to the bottom of the screen even if you are using the touch controls to move up. So every time you want to change your aim you are fighting with it to go the right direction. Here’s to hoping for another quick fix.

Good overall with exceptions

(Update: lowering my rating because after moving to a new phone, my game progress is gone! I wouldn’t have unchecked cloud saves, so my save should have been there. Many hours of playing wasted!)Overall a good, fun, well made breakout/shmup style game with a decent variety in the characters/balls/abilities. Some issues though.The town could be better done. The normal viewing angle is too low, making it hard to see buildings at the bottom where the foliage partly covers them and making it sometimes hard to select or differentiate adjacent buildings when they're placed tightly together (though it's fine while editing - why not just use the editing angle all the time?? or at least make it an option), and after you've unlocked a fair number of buildings, it becomes pretty unwieldy trying to manage where to put everything to optimize gathering of resources and fostering construction/upgrades. In editing mode when you have a lot of buildings so the camera is zoomed out, it becomes difficult to see the expected ball path line (on my iphone 15 max pro). Also during resource collection, balls can slip through the cracks between buildings.Also the Radical character is ridiculous. I can sort of understand having an autoplay char for those that want to do other stuff while it plays out (though personally that's not my thing), but its ai is horrible! It lets enemies and resources get to the bottom without attacking/picking them up, focuses most of its shots on the back row, and aims the rest of its shots at nothing!

The aiming is worse now that they "fixed" the aim by just making the controls automatically press up, whereas before it had more degrees of freedom, it felt way better, and felt more manual. I was already aiming up, but the problem is that now when the enemies reach the bottom I can't even aim towards them to take them out before they hit my character because the "fixed" aim goes auto press up when I want to press down. A solution is to add a toggle between these 2 set ups, previous more manual aim, vs now auto press up aim. At least, fix so we can aim more horizontal 90 degree angle. When you press left or right on the aim, you can see the control is not aiming fully right or left. Also, if you can add touch aim sensitivity in the settings options, this will be a 5 star review.Please devs, I didn't have an issue with the aim before, I just updated to this "fixed" version and it feels horrible, wish I could roll the version back.

BALL x PIT's final free update is The Naturalist Update, which brings a selection of new balls and passives to your favorite ball-bouncing roguelite, as well as two new characters. The first new character, The Ballbearer, doubles down on firepower, literally, giving you twice the amount of Ball slots to build an arsenal – at the cost of giving up passive items completely. Then, on the flipside, there's The Hoary Hoarder, who only has room for two Ball slots, but makes up for it with double the amount of passive slots, letting powerful item Evolutions do the heavy lifting. The Naturalist Update also adds 11 new Balls to the mix. Lightning Bug lights up the battlefield by spawning a firefly with every bounce, seeking out the strongest enemy before zapping nearby targets with a burst of lightning. Drill tears through enemies from behind, piercing straight through them and dealing extra damage along the way. Armageddon calls down a destructive meteor shower the moment it hits an enemy. You'll have to discover the rest yourself. The Naturalist Update also features 5 new passives, including Platinum Dumbbell, which rewards clean shots, giving your balls a damage boost that lasts until they finally collide with the back wall. Inglorious Hammer keeps the pressure on after a bounce, causing balls that hit a wall or the back of the arena to immediately strike a random enemy for reduced damage. Remote Detonator turns every kill into another explosive opportunity. All of this and more awaits you in The Naturalist Update!
