more The biggest challenge for me journaling is taking the time to remember what I did and putting it on paper. Since this is automated I can focus on journaling other things in my life. I do wish the journaling aspect is a little more robust but for what it offers, it will probably keep me more consistent on actually doing it.

I have been looking for a long time for a frictionless way to record my life. I’ve tried DayOne, Path, Polar Steps, Fog of World… nothing stuck. Time Atlas was just what I needed and records what I want in a clear and simple way. Solid app and look forward to seeing it develop.

The app is awesome. It’s beautiful. I love it. But, I feel like my phones battery is draining much faster since I installed it. I also am a little apprehensive sharing this much data with a 3rd party. I’ll use it for now!
Developer Response Thanks! Actually, you are not sharing any data with a third party -- it all stays on your device and iCloud. There is now an Eco Mode in the Settings as well for less battery drain.

Love how this app automatically tracks my runs, walks and bike rides without me doing anything. I also use it to look back on trips - it almost like a travel journal. Super clean design to see both workouts and memories in one timeline.

- Some very short trips were incorrectly created.

1.3.1 Jun 16
== Major update: Introducing the Trip Views! ==
Time Atlas automatically detects when you are traveling, creating trips. You can find list of trips from your Dashboard or on top of the traveling days. When you tap on a trip, the new Trip View will open. It will show the essential information about the trip, such as maps, photos, charts and highlights. You can give a trip a name and a description, helping you remember it in the future!
You can also share trips with your friends or family by publishing it as a private web page. You can choose what you want to share and what you want to keep to yourself.
== Other Updates ==
This update also includes significant improvements to memory use and performance, especially when your history in the app is very large (such as if you imported your data from Day One, Moves or Apple Journal). We have also made improvements to the photo viewer, making it more intuitive to select which photos are pinned on your daily "bento".
In addition, daily highlights are now in chronological order (they were in reverse order before, but this way is more intuitive).
1.3.0 Jun 9
Light Mode is here! Until now, Time Atlas has been available primarily in Dark Mode. Today, we are letting in the light. Choose your preferred appearance from Settings. You can also always set it to automatic, so it swaps based on daylight hours.
Additional new features:
- Easily import your journal data from Apple Journal or Day One app (from Settings). You can now migrate into Time Atlas without losing track of your past.
- Merge multiple place visits into one. Press down on a place visit in the timeline, choose "Merge visits" and select which visits you want to include.
This build also includes some minor bug fixes and improvements.
1.2.4 Jun 3
This update brings in fully redesigned highlights! Open the app to see how elegantly your daily moments are presented.
Highlights are moments, events and activities that are automatically elevated and attached to your day in the Story feed. Until now, highlights were listed one after another underneath the day card. They took a lot of space, showed some duplication and were sometimes not so relevant. We redesigned them so that they all fit in one slim carousel just below the day. New highlights show daily moments just at a glance and you can go into detail by tapping them. They are easily curated, so if you see one or two that you don't find meaningful, you can simply hide them. Now, highlights competently provide that extra bit of context to emphasize what was important about a memorable day.
1.2.3 May 26
Important bug fix to a problem which caused heavy battery consumption in certain error cases.
1.2.2 May 18
This update includes minor bug fixes and improvements to the version 1.2.0, which was a major update.
We have included the release notes of 1.2.0 below.
** Previous update: 1.2.0
Great news: In this update we are introducing day customization!
Until now, day summaries in the Story feed have been automatically generated by the app based on your activity. Further changes to the day's bento or the dishes displayed have been very limited. Now, you get full control! Day customization allows you to attach any activity content to any chosen dish in the bento. Swap dishes, replace them, add a fourth one – the possibilities are endless. You can now even fill your bento dishes with just photos! To top it all off, we also allow you to flip the layout of the bento and toggle between row- and column-based stacking, so you can get that amazing photo to display exactly how you want it.
Try it out:
1. Press down on any dish in your daily bento.
2. A menu will show up listing all the activity the app has collected for that day.
3. Select any of the listed activity content.
4. The selected content will now display in your chosen dish.
5. Use the day menu (...) to flip the layout or toggle between row/column stacking.
Bonus: Alongside day customization we are introducing a custom sheet for sharing your bento, which allows you to remove information that you feel is too private to share. What you share is entirely up to you!

It tracks only the places you visit, and not the routes, and may miss some place visits that are nearby each other. Eco Mode can be enabled in the settings.
In addition, some bug fixes and minor improvements:
- Fix a crash which happened if the app had locations disabled for a long time.
- Fix a bug that caused some workouts to be double-counted.

1.1.1 Apr 15
Big news! This update introduces our paid subscription plan: Time Atlas Plus. It offers access to advanced features in the app, such as AI Chat and various Dashboard insights.

1.1.0 Apr 13

1.0.4 Mar 24
We keep improving Time Atlas 1.0! Here are a few notable updates:

- Improved photo viewer user interface.
- You can now share photos from other applications using the Time Atlas share extension (use the share sheet and find the Time Atlas icon).
- New setting: disable automatic photo selection for daily summaries and events (open the Settings from the top right menu).
- Various performance improvements and bug fixes.

1.0.2 Mar 6
Welcome to Time Atlas 1.0! This milestone release features a completely redesigned approach to the app: the new Story feed.
What is it? Well, we no longer display a daily timeline of your activity, and instead present a weekly "Story" feed. You browse your past moments week-by-week, where a day is represented by a summary card – each day in full context. All relevant information is presented within boxes in a grid and place visits are emphasized below.
Our days are often filled with routine, but they also include highlights that are meaningful moments to us. This is why underneath each day's summary card you will find "Highlights" of the day – moments we think might be notable to you. These can be a workout that you did, a visit to a new place or maybe a moment you chose to write about. If you find one of them isn't that special, go ahead and hide it from the feed.
Don't worry, the timeline that you know and love is still there. Tap into any day's summary card and you'll see the day in full detail!
Benefits:
- The new daily summary cards allow you to see everything quickly and at a glance.
- Photos, maps, spotlighted activity and place visits appear together, so you always get the full picture.
- The user interface is now more visual, so the role of photos is accentuated – make sure you get that perfect shot!
- Maps also take center stage, so go ahead and explore your routines by comparing paths across days.
- Reflecting on that memorable past moment becomes effortless and easy to find, as you browse back in time.
Note! We made substantial visual upgrades to the app's interface, and for now we decided to support dark mode only.
Let us know if you think we should bring light mode back: info@timeatlaslabs.com
