Syft has changed my news experience: I follow many specific topics and it scans global coverage (across all languages) and sends me concise updates only when there’s something worth reading. The briefs are clear, sources are diverse, and I love that I’m not stuck refreshing feeds. If you value true learnings over noise, this is it.

Awesome app. Wonderful. But then everything I had setup was suddenly locked down behind a subscription. Okay. that’s fine let’s see what the price is i’ll pay if it’s fair… $10 a month???? might seem paltry, but strip it down and it’s a smart RSS reader. $10 a month. $120 a year. Syft. You messed this one up. I deleted your app. You could have asked a lower fair price and gone for volume. You went with price=value. The luxury mattress model. The anthropic model. Try this. $3.99 a month. Promote. Never seen any promotion for your app. Build a user base who will and can pay that no problem. Same cashflow, more users, more reviews, more clout, higher app store ranking, top search hit for “news”, more users more overhead okay. but you didn’t seem to evaluate the ios landscape. Syft will like drain itself dry of any startup funding, lose customers to apps like Particle or Wisp, sell off, and realize what a few bucks can do.

Being able to save stories and possible organize them into folders would make a big difference. Its a very cool app. I can see this being a way to get info updates and news from various websites and sources such as RSS. The summaries are nice, though it would be very useful if the source could be viewd as well without visiting the website. As it seems the app prepares stories without you needing to connect to the direct feeds themselves, this is great for privacy, if the developers/company behind this app don’t monetize or commercially share data/analytics like most subpar apps typically do nowadays.

Absolutely love this app! It’s great someone finally came up with a solution. This goes way beyond the RSS feeds, news aggregation engines like Google News or Apple News, and cuts all the garbage out. I love not only is it an LLM solution but the daily summaries are spot on being a lot cleaner than Perplexity on some content. Highly recommended!
