Pick the tool you need. TRANSLATE Read any Japanese, however it reaches you. Paste, type, speak or photograph it, and see it broken down word by word. Readings on every word, dictionary forms attached, tap any word to open its entry, tap any kanji to pull it apart. DICTIONARY The dictionary lives on your device. JMdict for vocabulary, JMnedict for names, KANJIDIC for kanji, Kanji Alive for components. Search by JLPT level or frequency. Open the conjugation table on any verb to hear every form. Build your own word lists. PRACTICE Take a podcast, a clip, or a recording you already have, and turn it into a conversation you can study line by line. Or build one yourself. Real human Japanese, with the rhythm and the half-swallowed particles, is something you can shadow against until your voice catches the pattern. STUDY Quick games for the five minutes between things. Random Word at your JLPT level. Word Search on a grid you can hunt through. Active recall, small doses, no streaks. WHAT STAYS LOCAL The dictionary, your saved translations, your transcripts, your recordings, your word lists. The app reaches the network only when you ask it to translate or speak something out loud, and only to the provider you chose. BRING YOUR OWN PROVIDER Translation runs against a cloud model. Use OpenAI, Google, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Your keys are stored on-device, and only the text you're translating goes over the network. NO ACCOUNT No signup, no login, no analytics. This update introduces new selection tools and precision improvements to the camera translator. - Select Area Mode: Focus your translation on a specific section of the screen by dragging and resizing a bounding box. - Strict Japanese Filtering: Prevents background noise and English text from being included in the captured text (can be toggled off anytime via the new shield icon).
