WHAT'S NEW Follow the People You Watch Most Insights has always shown which actors and directors turn up most across everything you've watched. Now each of them has a Follow button right there, so the moment you notice you've seen seven of someone's films you can start hearing about their next one. See What Arrived While You Were Away Notifications you haven't opened yet are marked with a gold edge, so you can tell at a glance what's new. The bell count now updates when you open the app too, instead of sitting on an old number until you tapped through. Arrivals Stay in Your Notifications A title landing on a service you have, or a new release from someone you follow, used to be a push and nothing more. Miss it and it was gone. Those now sit in your notifications list with the poster, so you can scroll back and find the one you meant to watch. Icons That Are Ours The tab bar, Tonight's Pick, Swipe Match, Lists, Diary, Notes, Insights, Settings, and the Watched, Note, and Share buttons now use icons drawn for Showvie instead of the stock set. Same ones on the website, so a feature looks like itself wherever you find it. Film or Series at a Glance For You and Most Added This Week posters now carry the same FILM and SERIES chip as everywhere else, so you can tell what you're looking at without tapping in. FIXES Premieres Say So A show that started on a service used to be announced as "now on Apple TV", as if it had moved there. Those rows now read "out now on Apple TV", matching the push. Next Episode Means Next A show between seasons used to lead with "Next Episode: S4 E1, Episode 1" and a date a year out, which is a placeholder, not a schedule. The card now shows the next episode only when it airs within three months. Otherwise it shows the latest one that aired and notes when the show returns. Streaks, Named Insights showed a "day streak" next to "on a roll" with nothing saying which was which. They now read "longest streak" and "current streak". Clearing Your Recents Actually Clears Them Tapping Clear on Recently Viewed put up a confirmation and then quietly did nothing. Both Recently Viewed and Recent Searches now clear the moment you tap, with no confirmation to sit through. Suggested Keeps Up With You Following everyone on Suggested left a screen of Following buttons, and coming back showed them all as unfollowed again. It now refreshes on the way out with people you haven't seen yet, and your feed picks up whoever you just followed instead of waiting for a pull to refresh. Long Names Fit on One Line Feed lines like "@alex followed @someone" were cut off halfway across the row with empty space sitting next to them. The Gold Ring on Find Your People All Access members showed their mark next to their name but not the ring around their photo.

WHAT'S NEW Follow the People You Like Follow an actor or director from their page, and we'll tell you when something of theirs comes out or lands on a service you can watch it on. The people you follow live on your profile under People, and you can see who anyone else follows from theirs. Following someone shows up in your friends' feeds, so they can find people through you. Turn the alerts off any time under People You Follow in notification settings. Your Feed Leads With Your Friends Home now opens on what the people you follow are watching. Tonight's Pick and Swipe Match still turn up, woven in between posts rather than stacked above them, so the feed reads as a feed again. A Way Into New to Streaming The feed now points you at what just landed on the services you already pay for, instead of leaving it tucked away on the search page. It only shows up when there's actually something new to see. A Proper Welcome Signing up now starts with a short intro to what Showvie is for, and the rest of setup got original artwork throughout, including hand-drawn genre icons in place of the stock symbols. A Mark of Our Own All Access now carries the Showvie S instead of a generic award icon. It shows on member profiles, next to their name, and anywhere membership comes up. FIXES The Welcome Screens Actually Show Up New accounts were dropped straight into setup and never saw the intro. They appear now, and advance on their own if you'd rather just watch. "Create List" Stays Tappable Typing a list name during setup left the Create button greyed out until you tapped somewhere else. It now enables as you type, and the screen says up front that you already have a personal watchlist. Pull to Refresh Recovers Cleanly A refresh that failed, usually a dropped connection, could take the whole screen down with it. It now stops quietly and lets you pull again.

Swipe to Decide What to Watch Stuck on what to watch tonight? Start a session from your Home screen, invite a friend or your partner, and swipe through a shared deck of movies and shows together. When you both swipe right on the same title, it's a match. No more scrolling in silence. See How Much You've Watched Every actor and director page now shows how many of their movies and shows you've seen, a running tally with a progress bar. Log Something Without the Exact Date Marking a title watched now has an "I don't remember" option. Add old favorites without guessing a date. They gather in a "No date" section of your diary.

Share Your Diary Your diary — every title you've marked watched, with the dates — can now live on your profile. It stays private by default; flip on Public Diary in Privacy settings to let others browse it. When someone shares theirs, a Diary button shows up on their profile so you can page through everything they've watched. FIXES Easier Taps on the Feed The like, comment, and repost buttons on the feed now have larger touch targets, so they're no longer fiddly to hit. Accurate Comment Counts Comment counts on ratings and other activity no longer drift — they reflect exactly what's in the thread. No More Double Pings Fixed a case where a single like could send you two notifications.

Your Year, Reimagined Insights got a top-to-bottom redesign — a scrollable recap of how you actually watch. A headline of your total watch time and titles, a calendar heatmap of every day you logged something, your longest and current streaks, a genre-taste radar, the languages and decades you reach for, a "you vs. the crowd" critic read, and superlatives like your highest-rated, oldest, longest, and hidden-gem pick. It's the centerpiece of All Access. Tap Any Stat to See the Titles Behind It Curious which title was in Korean, or what you watched from the '90s? Tap a language, genre, decade, weekday, or a day on the heatmap to open the exact titles behind that number — posters and all — then jump straight into any one of them. The Faces You Watch Most Insights now surfaces the actors and directors who show up across your watch history most often, as tappable rails. Tap a face to open their page and see everything else they've done. Share Your Recap A new share button turns your recap into a clean, portrait-sized card built for stories and posts — your watch time, top genre, favorite decade, and streak, wrapped up to send. FIXES Sharper Search Searching a title that starts with "the" no longer buries what you meant under blockbusters that happen to share the word — results lock onto the actual title you typed. Back Button Never Strands You Opening a shared link to a watchlist, collection, or someone's activity and then hitting back used to occasionally dead-end on a blank screen. Back now always lands you somewhere real.

Your Watch Diary Everything you mark watched now collects in its own Diary tab, newest first. When you check a title off, Showvie asks when you saw it — today or backdated — so your history stays accurate, and filters help you find your way back to it. Watched status is global now, too: mark a title once and it shows as watched everywhere it turns up, not just on the list you added it from. Finds the Hard-to-Find Search now reaches past our main library to surface titles that used to come back empty — indie films, festival shorts, and brand-new releases. When something isn't where you'd expect, Showvie looks a little further and brings it in on the spot, poster and artwork included. From there it's a title like any other: open its full page, mark it watched, rate it, review it, and add it to a watchlist. Reset a Forgotten Password Locked out? "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen now emails you a secure link to set a new one and get right back in. FIXES Cast Names That Fit Long character names in the cast row no longer get clipped, and the row scales with your text-size setting so everything stays readable. Cleaner Account Switching Switching accounts now refreshes your watchlist and Insights data right away — no more flash of the previous account's information before it catches up.

More to Go On in New to Streaming The "New to Streaming" feed is now a clean list that shows why each title is here — which services it just landed on and when — plus its year, genres, and rating at a glance. New filters let you narrow by when it arrived (today or this week) and how you can watch it (subscription, free, or with ads), or sort to surface the titles that hit several services at once. Richer Watchlists Watchlist rows now show the release year next to the genres, so you can place a title without opening it. Tap a list's title to jump straight back to the top, and every watchlist now uses one clean, scannable layout. FIXES A Friendlier Search The search and clear buttons are bigger and easier to tap, and tapping the magnifying glass jumps you right into typing. Your recently viewed titles and recent searches now appear when you tap into search — instead of crowding the top of the page the rest of the time. Jump to Profiles from Catch Up In the weekly "Catch up" recap, tapping someone's username now opens their profile, while tapping anywhere else on the row still opens the movie or show. POLISH A More Showvie Loading Screen Loading screens across the app now use the animated Showvie mark in place of a generic spinner.

See What Just Hit Streaming A new "New to Streaming" section on Search rounds up movies and shows recently added to Netflix, Max, Disney+ and more — filter by service or by movies vs. series. And when something already on your watchlist lands on a service, we'll let you know so you can finally hit play. Picks That Know Your Taste Tonight's Pick can now slip in a title you don't have yet — but probably should — matched to the genres you chose when you signed up. Tap "Show me different" and look for the "For You" tag; one tap on the bookmark drops it onto your watchlist. Find It In Fewer Letters Search now leans on Showvie's own growing title library, so a few letters are usually enough — type "Tit" and Titanic is right there at the top instead of staying hidden until you've nearly spelled the whole thing. The fuller set of results still follows underneath, so nothing's lost. FIXES Opening A Title From Your Watchlist Tapping "View Show" or "View Movie" from a watchlist item's menu could do nothing — or close the app — if you'd just changed your search. It now opens the title every time. Watchlist Search Stops Autocorrecting Searching within a watchlist no longer lets your keyboard autocorrect rewrite the title you typed, so it stays as you typed it instead of jumping to something else. New-Season Notifications Open The Show Tapping a "new season announced" notification now opens that show's page instead of occasionally dropping you on Home. POLISH A Calmer Featured Carousel The rotating spotlight on Search moves at a more relaxed pace now, and once you swipe it yourself it stops auto-advancing — so it won't slide away mid-look.

Chat On Your Watchlists Shared watchlists can now have their own chat. The list owner flips it on from list settings, and a chat icon appears in the app bar for everyone on the list — a space to talk about what you're watching together, separate from the title-by-title comments. Messages stream in while you've got it open, and activity like adds and status changes show up inline so the conversation has context. Most Viewed This Week A new rail on Home surfaces the titles getting the most attention across Showvie this week. It's fully anonymous and shown only as aggregate counts — your individual browsing is never exposed, not even to you — and a title only appears once enough different people have looked at it. Don't want to be counted? There's a toggle in Privacy settings to opt out entirely. Marking Watched, Done Right The Watched button on a movie or show used to be fiddly to tap and didn't do much beyond bumping a counter. Now one tap reliably registers the watch, adds the title to your watchlist as Watched if it wasn't already, asks when you watched it (Today, Yesterday, or pick a date), and offers a quick rating. Remove your last watch and it backs the title out of your watchlist again, so the two stay in sync. Search Right On Your Watchlist Every watchlist now has a persistent search bar pinned to the top, styled to match the main Search tab — filter a long list down without digging through a menu. POLISH Tappable Names In Follow Activity "@alison followed @ben" feed rows now let you tap @ben to jump to their profile. Tapping your own name takes you to your Profile tab instead of a "this profile is private" wall. No More Dead-End Collections Titles that claimed to be "part of a collection" but had nothing else in the set were showing an empty page. The link now only appears when there's actually something to see, with a friendly note if a collection's other entries haven't been announced yet. Settings Opens Full-Screen Opening Settings from your profile no longer leaves the bottom tab bar peeking underneath. Fixed Chat Message Sides After Switching Accounts If you signed out and into a different account, watchlist chat could show your own messages on the wrong side. Sorted. Tonight's Pick Skips Theaters-Only Titles Tonight's Pick was occasionally suggesting movies still only in theaters. It now sticks to things you can actually watch tonight.

WHAT'S NEW Long-Press Back To Jump All The Way Back Press and hold the back arrow on any detail screen to pop straight to the tab root instead of tapping back-back-back. A one-shot spotlight surfaces the gesture the first time you're a few screens deep so you don't have to read about it. Rate Prompt Right After You Mark Something Watched Marking a title as Watched (from a watchlist add, a watchlist row, or the Tonight's Pick "Mark Watched" button) now surfaces a quick "Watched! How was it?" with a Rate action. One nudge per title. Skips silently if you've already rated. The For You And Now Watching Rails Actually Change Both rails were sorted by deterministic signals (popularity, when titles were added) and showed the same things in the same order every time you opened the app. They now shuffle once per day in your local timezone, so you see a different cut without the order changing mid-session. Plus three of the For You slots are reserved for picks outside your usual genres — built-in exploration room. Collab Watchlists, Redesigned Shared watchlists with collaborators were a cramped poster grid with tiny avatar dots that were nearly impossible to read. Phones now default to a row layout — a poster thumbnail, the title, and a roomy 28px avatar cluster on the right with checkmark and play-arrow badges so you can tell at a glance who's watched, who's watching, and who still wants to. Tablets keep the grid (which now shows count pills instead of micro avatars). Toggle between the two from the app bar; the choice persists per list. POLISH Shared Watchlist Filter Chips That Make Sense The Want/Watching/Watched tabs at the top of a shared list filtered by your own status — which hid most of the list whenever your friends had been doing all the work. Replaced with: All / Unseen / Wants / Watching, each with a leading icon. "Unseen" surfaces titles you haven't watched yet (regardless of what others have done), sorted by how many collaborators have already watched so the most-shared experiences float up. Tap-To-Expand Tip On Long Synopses Movie and show overviews that get truncated to three lines now have a small chevron pill below the fade gradient. Tap the body or the chevron to expand; it rotates as the text unfolds. Same on episode synopses inside season screens. Feed Cards Show 10-Point Ratings Rating cards in the social feed were collapsing your 10-point rating into a row of 5 filled/empty stars, losing precision. They now show stars matching the scale you actually use. Tonight's Pick Stays Put Within The Day Tonight's Pick was rolling a new pick every time you opened the screen — within a single session you could see Pick A, swipe away, come back, and get Pick B. It now locks to one pick per local day; the existing 7-day cooldown still rotates picks day-to-day. Search Bar X Closes The Keyboard Even Before You Type The clear (×) button on the search field only appeared once you'd typed something — so you couldn't easily dismiss the keyboard if you opened search by accident. It now shows the moment the field is focused regardless of whether there's any text yet. Missing Genres On Older Watchlist Items Items added through certain paths — long-press quick-add, the "+" sheet on a shared list, the editorial Tonight cards on Home — were silently saved with no genres, which left their meta line blank in the row layout. Genres now flow through every add path, and a one-time backfill on the backend filled in the gap for existing rows. Rate Sheet Stars Take Actual Taps Now Tapping a specific star in the rating sheet was unreliable — the parent's drag-to-rate gesture was arbitrating against per-star taps and usually winning. Each star is its own tap target now; drag-to-rate still works on the strip.

POLISH Suggested List Refreshes After You Follow Following someone from the Suggested ("You Might Know") list would leave them in the list with a tappable Follow button after you left the screen and came back — the cached list still showed them as not-followed even though the follow had stuck. Tapping a follow (or unfollow) now busts that cache so the list reflects truth on next view. No More Browse-Page Crash After Android Killed The App If Android killed Showvie in the background to free up memory while you were on a Browse page (Popular Movies, In Theaters, etc.), reopening the app could crash on relaunch — Android tries to restore the route but loses the in-memory category info. Now falls back to Trending if the category is missing, so you land on a real page instead of staring at a crash. Search Sits Behind A Tap Now The Discover tab is now Search (magnifying-glass icon), and tapping it lands you on the browse rails — Trending, Popular, Recently Viewed, etc. — instead of immediately popping the keyboard over them. The keyboard appears the moment you tap the search field. Means you can actually see what's there before committing to typing. People Search Shows You Why Someone Showed Up Searching people now shows mutuals and rating activity on the second line ("3 friends follow them · 1.2K ratings") instead of just the display name. And if you search "Todd" but get back @mrvrba, the matching part of their display name is bolded inline next to the @handle — so it's obvious why they came back for that search. Onboarding Screens Stop Hiding Buttons On Small Phones The "Stay in the loop" notification screen and the "Start your first list" screen used a fixed layout that could push the primary button (and the "Not now" link) off the bottom of the viewport on shorter devices, with no way to scroll to reach them. Both screens now scroll the content while pinning the buttons at the bottom, so the CTAs are always reachable regardless of screen height. People Filter Hides For Logged-Out Browsing The "Users" filter pill (and the inline user results on the All tab) were showing up even when you weren't signed in — but searching people requires an account, so the pill led to an empty results screen and the All-tab mix-in was firing a doomed request on every keystroke. Both now hide cleanly for guests; sign in to get them back. Follow Back Appears Immediately After Approving A Request Approving a follow request on a private account creates a new "X started following you" notification with an inline Follow back button — but the notifications list wasn't refreshing after approval, so the new row only showed up after backing out and coming back. The list now reloads in place. Genre Prompt Stops Re-Appearing Right After Onboarding Fresh users who just picked their genres at the end of onboarding could get the legacy "Personalize your recs" sheet pop right back up on the Home tab. The check that suppresses it was waiting on a server flag that races with the home-mount; it now also trusts the local "onboarding complete" marker that's set synchronously when you tap Done. Upcoming Seasons Don't Pretend To Have "0 ep" A season that's been announced but hasn't aired yet was showing up under a show's Seasons rail with the subtitle "0 ep" and was tappable into a blank season screen. The tile now reads "Premieres Sep 12" (or "Coming soon" if the date isn't known), is dimmed slightly, and ignores taps until episodes actually exist. Pick It Back Up When A New Season Drops A new push lands when a season's coming out for a show you'd already marked as Watched — both a few days before the season premieres and on the day-of. Tapping it lands you on the show detail page with a one-tap "Move to Watching" button so you can pick the show back up without digging through your lists. Lives under Settings → Notifications → New seasons.

Fixes a crash that could happen when you reopened Showvie after leaving it in the background with your screen locked.

Based on a Book A new "Based on a Book" rail in Discover, plus a small Based on a Book chip on the detail page for any movie or show adapted from a novel. Driven by TMDB's community-tagged keyword — coverage is solid for the big titles (Shawshank, Game of Thrones, Outlander, Dune, Reacher) and thinner for obscure ones. Same Movies/Series/All filter as the Anime rail when you tap See All. Follow Showvie A small Follow row at the bottom of Home, Discover, About, and every detail page, with X, Instagram, and TikTok icons. All three point to @showvieapp. POLISH Trending Rails Stop Going Empty Home and Discover's trending rails were occasionally returning nothing — turns out a corrupt response was getting cached at the network edge between us and TMDB. Fixed by asking for uncompressed responses (and decompressing only when we have to), plus a one-shot retry when the upstream drops a connection mid-response. No More Forever-Spinners On Expired Sessions (Round Three) The home feed could fail at cold launch and stay stuck on "Could not load feed" until you pulled down to refresh — the retry inside auth refresh was racing with itself while the device keychain was still warming up. Rebuilt so each retried request gets a clean handoff regardless of timing.

Groups A new fifth tab. Start a private group with your sister, your roommates, or your film-school cohort, and pick something to watch together every couple weeks. Each cycle runs nominating → voting → active → complete: anyone can nominate, everyone votes, the winner becomes the group's current pick. Track who's watched, drop reactions, post a chat message, schedule a watch party with RSVPs, and discuss it once everyone's done. Invite by @username, or request to join public groups from the Discover tab. Notifications cover the moments that matter — new cycle, voting open, event scheduled, group message — all toggleable under Notifications → Groups. Long-Press To Quick-Add Long-press any movie or show poster — in search, on home rails, anywhere — to pop a tiny sheet with three colored chips: Want, Watching, Watched. One tap stashes it on your default watchlist with the status set. No more drilling into a detail page just to mark something. Follow Back From The Bell Follow notifications now carry a Follow back button when it would actually do something — i.e. when you don't already follow that person. Once the relationship is mutual, the button hides itself so you never re-follow someone you already follow. POLISH Detail Pages Paint Instantly Opening a movie or show from a list, feed, or recommendation row now paints the poster, title, year, and rating instantly using data we already have — instead of staring at a black screen (or a barely-visible shimmer) while the network call completes. Slower Android devices benefit most. Less Aggressive On Memory The in-memory image cache was getting hefty enough that iOS would occasionally kill the app from the background instead of resuming it cleanly. Cache size is tighter now and the app trims on backgrounding, so fewer cold launches when you switch out of the app and back in. No More Forever-Spinners On Expired Sessions (Round Two) The 401-refresh interceptor had a queue race that could hang retried requests forever when a refresh raced another in-flight 401. Closed the race and covered it with regression tests so it doesn't sneak back.

Personalized From Day One First launch now opens with a quick 3-card intro, then a 4-step setup: pick a few genres, mark anything you've seen so we don't recommend it back, name your first watchlist, and opt into notifications. Home is personalized before you land on it — even with zero ratings. Personalize Your Recs (Existing Members) A one-time prompt on app launch lets you set your genre preferences without re-running full onboarding. Drives a sharper For You rail. Lists You Might Like Public watchlists from people you follow (and the broader Showvie community) now surface in the home feed alongside Trending and Top Rated. Tap to open, or hit Join right from the card — no need to wade through the discover tab. Genre Filter Chips On For You Quick-filter the For You rail by one of your picked genres. Tap a chip to scope; tap again to clear. Skeletons fill in while the filtered set loads — no jarring snapback. Preferred Genres In Settings Tastes change. Settings → Preferred Genres opens the same chip grid as onboarding so you can re-tune your picks without re-running the flow. Genres Now Drive More Than Onboarding Your picked genres now blend into For You permanently (not just cold-start), boost Tonight's Pick candidates whose genres match, and serve as the explicit filter behind the new chip row. POLISH Tap the Episode, Land on the Episode Showvie Staff Picks for individual episodes used to dump you on the parent show. Tapping an episode pick now opens the episode sheet directly. Reviews Tucked Into Editorial Cards The community review excerpt under a curated title now lives inside the title card itself, separated by a hairline, instead of floating as a second box below. Resilient Episode Cards When an episode pick's preview image fails to load, the card now falls back to the show poster instead of leaving a gray box.

Tonight's Pick Stop scrolling. Showvie picks one thing from your watchlist for tonight — runtime-filtered, with streamable-on-your-services items prioritized. Don't love it? "Not this one" rolls a fresh pick, "Show me different" reveals three more. Find it on a new card at the top of Home, or wait for the Friday/Saturday evening nudge (toggle in Notifications → For you).

For You Picks A new "For You" rail at the top of Home recommends movies and shows tuned to your taste. Picks are based on the genres of films you've rated highly, filtered against everything you've already watched, watchlisted, or marked want-to-watch. Each card carries a title line showing which of your top-rated titles drove the pick. Rate a few more to unlock--the engine activates after 5 ratings. Most Added This Week A second editorial rail surfaces titles the Showvie community is adding to their watchlists most this week. Reviews On Editorial Cards Staff picks, Trending, and Top Rated cards now show a review excerpt from another Showvie user under the poster--author handle, stars, and the first few lines of their take. Tap opens their profile. POLISH Bottom Sheets Cover Tabs Avatar picker, watchlist creator, and other sheets now properly slide over the tab bar instead of underneath it. Image Picker Permission Handling Denying camera or photo access now shows a snackbar pointing to Settings instead of crashing.

Home Is Now Your Friends Feed The Home tab leads with what people you follow are doing — rating, reviewing, finishing a show, adding to a watchlist. Each post embeds the title with a poster, year, stars, and (for reviews) the actual review body right under the card. Tap anywhere on a post to open the activity with comments. While the network is small, Showvie sprinkles in editorial picks (Trending, Top rated, Staff picks) so the feed never feels empty — these dial down as you follow more people. Showvie Staff Picks Hand-picked movies, shows, and episodes now drop into the Home feed alongside Trending and Top rated — a curated title with a short note on why it's worth watching. Capped at three per session, newest first. Tap to open the title, Watchlist to save, or Not interested to dismiss for the session. Episode picks show the still and link to the parent show. Now Watching Strip A horizontal strip at the top of Home shows which friends are currently watching something, with a mini-poster of the title overlaid on their avatar. Tap a friend's avatar to jump straight to the title they're on. Discover Tab Replaces Search The Search tab is now Discover. It still has the search bar at the top, but below it lives all the editorial browsing — featured hero, Trending (Day/Week), Lists You Might Like, Popular Movies, Popular TV, In Theaters, Coming Soon, Most Anticipated, Trending People, Top Rated (All-Time/Year/Month), and the genre grid. One scrollable tab for everything that used to be split across Home and Search. Suggested Users In User Search Tap the people-search icon and you'll see Suggested users right under the search bar — start typing and it switches to live results. Both lists share the same follow/unfollow controls. 3-Dot Menu On Posts Tap the dots in the top-right of any feed post: unfollow the author (with confirmation), hide the post for this session, or — on your own posts — delete it. Invite Sheet On The "You're Early" Card The end-of-feed card now opens the system share sheet with an invite message and a Showvie link, instead of bouncing you to a separate Find Friends screen. POLISH Tab Bar Trim Bottom tabs are Home, Discover, Lists, You. The standalone Feed tab is gone — Home does that job now. Profile is renamed to You. Logged-Out Home If you're not signed in, Home shows editorial picks plus a sign-in banner instead of an empty feed. Tapping a "+ Watchlist" or like prompts sign-in.

Memorable Quotes on Every Title Movie and show pages now have a Memorable quotes section with the most iconic lines from the work — single-speaker zingers ("I am the one who knocks") and full back-and-forth exchanges ("No, I am your father"). Thumbs up the ones that stick, thumbs down the duds, and flag a spoiler to keep it blurred until someone chooses to read. The list pre-loads while you scroll the page so it's there when you reach for it. Content Advisories on Movies and Shows "Does the dog die?" — Showvie now has crowdsourced advisories under each title's new Content advisories section. Tap a trigger to confirm or dispute, request a new one if it's missing, and add a short note for context. Plot triggers stay blurred until you tap to reveal so the warning itself doesn't spoil. For shows you can report at the title, season, or episode level — the title rolls up everything below it. Heads Up Before You Press Play Flag the advisories you care about under Settings → Content avoid list. Matched titles get a red banner above the synopsis, a small warning badge on watchlist rows, and a push notification when something on your watchlist picks up a new flag. Notification Center Stops Being a Mess Likes, comments, mentions, and reposts on the same review/post now group together on your lock screen instead of interleaving with everything else. Follows live in their own group, watchlist activity in another, moderation in a third — pull down and your alerts are organized by what they're actually about. App Icon Shows Unread Count The Showvie icon now wears the same number as the in-app bell. Open the notifications screen (or just open the app) and the badge clears. No More Duplicate Follow Pings If someone follows, unfollows, then follows you again, you used to get a stack of "@user started following you" entries. The newer one replaces the older one now — same goes for follow requests, watchlist invites, and the daily digest (today's replaces yesterday's instead of piling up). POLISH Showvie 6 Editor Got a Lot Less Fiddly Drag a row from anywhere — no more aiming at the tiny grip icon. Edit a pick with the pencil, remove with the trash, and reordering with empty slots no longer snaps the row back across the screen. The search sheet for picking a title also stays where it should when the keyboard slides up instead of disappearing under the status bar. App Version on the About Screen Settings → About now shows the version you're running, so you know what to mention when something's off.

BUG FIXES Item Action Sheet No Longer Overflows on Collab Lists Tapping an item on a collaborated watchlist could trigger an overflow stripe at the bottom of the action sheet — the Member Status block pushed content past the half-screen cap. The sheet is scrollable and grows to fit now. Create List Form Tells You Why It's Stuck Tapping Create on an empty New List form did nothing, with no explanation. The button now greys out until the name field has content and re-enables live as you type. Easier Dismiss for the New List Sheet With the keyboard open, the drag handle on the New List sheet got pushed near the top of the screen, making swipe-to-dismiss awkward. There's now an explicit close button next to the title. Person Bio "Read More" Matches Movie and TV Actor and director bios used a separate "Read more" tap target with an abrupt cut. They now use the same gradient fade and tap-to-toggle as the overview on movie and show pages.

Way More Movie and Show Details Movie and show pages now have a Details block with production companies, countries of origin, spoken languages, alternate titles, and (for movies) release dates by country. The full "Also known as" and release-by-country lists open in a sheet so the page stays scannable. Next Episode Front and Center Active shows now surface their next episode right under Where to Watch — air date, season/episode, title, and a countdown ("In 3 days"). No more digging through the season tile to find when the next ep drops. Trending and Top Rated by Time Window The Trending rail on Home toggles between Day and Week, and Top Rated toggles between All Time, This Year, and This Month. The hero stays on Day so the headline backdrop doesn't reshuffle when you flip the rail. Same toggles carry into the Browse "See All" view. Watchlist Tabs by Status The All/Movies/TV tabs on watchlists are now Want/Watching/Watched — a more useful split for what you actually do on the screen. Movie/TV filtering still lives in the filter sheet. Items you haven't tagged yet show up under Want. Clear Your Showvie 6 The Showvie 6 edit screen now has a Clear option in the overflow menu — wipe all six picks in one shot instead of dismantling them one at a time. Truly Native Tap-to-Top Tapping the iOS status bar (the very top strip with the clock and battery) now scrolls the active tab to the top via the system's native gesture instead of a hand-rolled overlay. Tapping the tab icon a second time still scrolls to top too. BUG FIXES No More Duplicate Posters in Browse Paging through Trending or Top Rated would occasionally show the same poster twice — the underlying feeds re-rank themselves between page fetches, so an item from page 1 could resurface on page 2. We now track what's already been shown in the current scroll and skip dupes. Trending People Who Are Actually Recognizable The Trending People rail used to surface anonymous regional stars and silent-film actors born in 1877. We now pull from a more stable popularity source, drop adult performers and profile-less ghosts, gate on enough overall recognition (≥ 1000 total votes across their top credits), and require at least one credit from the last 25 years so you stop seeing people who died before color TV. Smarter "Known For" Talk-show couch visits, one-episode cameos, and animated guest spots were elbowing real roles out of the top of "Known For". Talk/news/reality TV credits, TV guest spots (≤ 2 episodes), and "Self" appearances are now filtered out, and animated TV gets ranked below live-action so a Family Guy cameo doesn't outrank a movie someone actually starred in. Other People's Watchlists Show the Right Status Viewing a friend's watchlist used to lump everything into Want because the API was hiding the owner's status from non-owner viewers. Now you see what they're actually tracking. No More Forever-Spinners on Expired Sessions If your session expired while you were browsing, Feed/Watchlist/Profile would sit on a loading icon forever. The token-refresh logic was deadlocking with itself when its own refresh request got rejected. Now when refresh genuinely fails, you get sent back to the login screen instead of staring at a spinner. Loader Polish The Feed tab was still flashing the generic spinner instead of the pulsing logo. The logo was also centering a hair too low on tab screens — the body extends behind the translucent bottom nav, throwing off optical center. Both fixed. No More Accidental Detail Pages from the Home Hero Tapping at the very top of the Home tab would occasionally hijack you to a random show's detail page instead of doing nothing or scrolling. The featured hero was catching taps in zones it had no business in. It now keeps its hands to itself up there.

New Look A new app icon — a gold "S" film-strip on a dark gradient. The launch screen finally shows it (it was a 1×1 black pixel before, technically). Loading states across the app now pulse the same icon instead of the generic spinner, so even the waits are on-brand. We're not above this. Most Anticipated A new home rail surfaces the buzziest movies and shows landing 1–9 months out. Christopher Nolan adaptations, the next big streaming drop, that one sequel you've been pretending you're not excited about — all there, sorted by how much the internet is yelling about them. Upcoming Shows Shows that haven't aired yet now get a gold "Upcoming" tag and the full release date — "Aug 12, 2026" instead of a lonely year. The metadata row no longer has orphan dots when something is missing, which it had been doing in a way that was, frankly, beneath us. BUG FIXES Fresher Metadata for Upcoming Titles Show details could go stale for up to a week, which is fine for The Sopranos but bad for shows that haven't aired yet and gain a release date overnight. We now refresh metadata for upcoming and in-production titles every 24 hours instead.

Collections Movie detail pages now surface the TMDB collection a film belongs to — tap the collection card to browse every film in the series. Collections also appear in search results under a dedicated Collections section, and a Collections filter chip lets you search them directly. Notes Add a private note to any movie, show, or episode. Notes are accessible from the detail page action bar (the Note button shows a dot when a note exists) and from a new My Notes screen on your profile. Redesigned Detail Pages Movie and TV detail pages have a cleaner zone layout: identity and overview at the top, your actions consolidated in one row below, community reviews next, then cast, crew, and recommendations at the bottom. Redesigned Search The search screen has been rebuilt from the ground up. When you open it, you'll find a genre browse grid, trending titles ranked by popularity, and your recent searches — all before you type a single letter. Genre tiles navigate to a full browse page for that category. Search results now show a genre label and highlight the matched text in the title. The type filter pills sit just below the search bar and scroll if you need them. See Who Liked Long-press the heart on any activity item to see the list of people who liked it. What's New A sheet that announces new features when you open the app. You're looking at it announce itself. Tick "Don't show again" if our self-congratulation is exhausting — or toggle it back on from Settings → About when you change your mind.

Join Public Watchlists Public watchlists can now be joined directly from search or the home page. Lists set to open join add you instantly; lists set to request-to-join send the owner a notification to approve or deny. Owners can review pending requests from inside the watchlist. Lists You Might Like A new section on the home page surfaces public watchlists you can join, ranked by whether people you follow are already members. Search Lists A new Lists tab in Search lets you find public watchlists by name. Each result shows the owner, member count, and a join or request button. Saved Ribbon Movie and TV posters now show a ribbon when an item is saved to any list, including when no status has been selected. The ribbon reflects Want, Watching, or Watched when a status is set. Which Lists Movie and TV detail pages now show which of your lists an item belongs to, just below the action buttons. Tap it to open the list sheet and make changes.

Photo Gallery Tap the backdrop image on any movie or TV detail page to browse all available photos. Swipe through them and pinch to zoom. Dismiss Suggestions You can now remove people from the "You Might Know" section on your profile so they don't show up again. Tap the × next to anyone to dismiss them.
