Engine audio code has been fixed so it no longer restarts the audio if it’s already playing. Other bug fixes.

New app icon. Boost control on mobile has been repositioned for smoother, more reliable input.

It's update time! What's New: Difficulty Modes: Whether you’re a new player or a returning racer, there’s now a challenge for everyone. Higher difficulty modes award more coins, so the harder you race, the bigger your rewards. Improved Mobile Controls: Acceleration and deceleration icons have been updated for clarity, and their placement has been optimized for easier access, especially on iPads and other tablets. Enhanced How To Play: The main menu now provides clearer guidance for mobile users to get the most out of the game. Bug Fixes & Improvements: Additional tweaks and fixes have been made to improve overall gameplay and stability. Engine Changes: Upgraded to Godot 4.5 Stable for the latest changes and improvements with the Godot Engine. Fun fact, this is our 5th installment of Godot 4 that Racing Dash 2D was built upon.

Completely rebuilt vehicle movement system for smoother, more responsive controls across all platforms. Overhauled upgrade system: now more reliable, scalable, and future-proof. Reworked garage/shop interface with improved visuals and navigation. New button styles with clearer text and better spacing. Added arrow key support for non-QWERTY players and improved UI focus navigation. Performance optimizations across the board — reduced memory usage, especially on mobile. (It was already efficient. This is just the final squeeze.) Seamless migration of legacy save data to support the new upgrade system. Known, Intentional Features: The Dumpster Fire™ is still uncontrollable. That’s not a bug — that’s a statement. Bug Fixes: Fixed UI overlap and text cutoff on some screen sizes. Fixed upgrade preview display and cancel logic.

• Updated to Godot 4.4.1! • Removed the Spin the Wheel system. • Introduced a new shop system where vehicles and upgrades can now be purchased and unlocked. • NPCs now have more dynamic speed behavior, making races feel more varied and competitive. • Refactored the codebase and scene structure behind the scenes for better maintainability. • General bug fixes, performance improvements, and optimizations. • Fixed an issue from 1.4.0 where music would not resume in the main menu after completing Level 7 and selecting “Next Level.” • Added a new vehicle to the game: Dumpsterfire. • Performed housecleaning and removed unused assets to reduce bloat.

Improved performance thanks to 95% of the codebase now being statically typed. UI polish: Increased title sizes for better readability. Main Menu music now continues playing when navigating to the Wheelspin, Garage, and Level Select scenes. Fixed a Mac-specific bug where the game could crash during a window conflict caused by the scene tree still being active. This issue has been resolved before release. This update also includes backend improvements and better scene management across menus and transitions.

Optimized the lap system. Optimized the texture size for Level 5 once again. Did some housecleaning in the codebase. Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements.

The arena level is back! Fixed a bug where after completing level 5 would not save correctly and after the player returns to the game, level 6 would not be accessible until level 5 was completed again. Other bugfixes and performance improvements.

Fixed a visual bug on Levels 1, 2, 4, and 5 where the player vehicle was facing in the default position of the scene that the vehicle was built in. Streamlined the user experience in the main menu to make it less confusing to players. Improved visibility of checkpoints within all levels of how much space each one is on the track. Optimized memory usage on level 5.
