I love how keeping track of the year with this app is less daunting than others. The garden theme is so cute! I highly recommend this app! My one and only suggestion would be to add another widget for the lock screen. One that’s half the size of the current one. It could be of just whatever the little drawing for that day is (and maybe for the dots you could put the number of days?). I have some widgets on my lock screen already and I feel like the smaller one would give more options for customization. Keep up the great work!

Really happy to see you're enjoying it.thanks for the suggestion on the lock screen widget. i went ahead and added it to our list to see what we can do! there may be a way for us to add a couple different widget styles there, but we shall see!if you have any other thoughts, i'd love to talk more! feel free to drop me a message at alec@wndn.studio!tysm for all your supportalec
so cute and so simple!

usual journaling apps would have all these features and options that you can include with each entry. and while i think it’s neat that you can customize your entries, for me personally, i would get overwhelmed by all the buttons and interactions that i’d lose motivation to keep writing. so i really appreciate how straightforward one year is. i think the only thing i’d really like to see improved is having the option to go back and edit or add entries. i’m very much a night owl and sometimes i’ll remember to journal when it passes midnight and now i can’t go back and add anything :( plus a zoom in feature would be cool just to be more precise in which day i want to look back on. but i think someone has already mentioned this whoopsi also have a love/hate relationship with the word limit. i like that it forces me to simplify my day into less words so that i’ll take note of the more important and vivid memories. but i’m also a yapper so i lowkey do get frustrated. so take that with what you will heheoverall, i totally recommend this app 100% especially to those who are looking an easy yet aesthetically pleasing journaling experience. and a one time payment of $20 for all the features? nothing i hate more than a monthly paywall so thank you devs!much love <3

hi there — im alec the dev behind one year!tysm for leaving this detailed review, TRULY means a lot :).really glad to see you're vibing with the simplicity of everything, especially with the daily journal!i hear you on these thoughts as well. let me address them one by one here:- going back edit entries: i wonder if there is another sort of mechanic here to keep the magic of each day that's passed has "truly" passed in your journal?- zoom in feature: yes, we've gotten this one a lot and are working on an update that should help with this :).- word limit: we will probably keep the word limit, but are working on an update to give you more ways to add memoriesall really great stuff and truly appreciate all your support. i'm always around if you ever want to talk more. just drop me an email @ alec@wndn.studiotysm again!alec
Makes you want to enjoy life

This app, especially the dots widget, shows how short a year is. And ever since i've got it, I've wanted to be able to add things to the journal that are different from usual. It's made me go out and do things. Something as simple as taking a walk really adds to it.I love the app and before my trial even ended, I bought the monthly subscription. I like how cheap it is, considering the app is rather simple and has no ads.

Insane Pricing, Great Idea
Bigdawgwhatsup
App is great in theory, but pretty impossible to justify the price point at this moment in time. There are other journal apps (the apple-bought one, for example) that can do way more for free.At the moment, the reason to get this is for the widgets (which are amazing!), but those are blocked behind a paywall! What happens to this when Apple just makes their own cool widget on their app that still has more features? If One Year make the widgets free as theyve discussed in response to some reviews, this will be worth it. Until then, I would find something else to populate your home screen

We're well into Spring with some long awaited updates for One Year:
- Daily mood tracking is here! You can now add how you're feeling each day, and your plants will change colors based on your mood
- Added a lock to your journal. Keep your memories private with a Face ID or passcode lock
- Included a bit more information on what's in the free tier and paid tier of the app
- Gave a lot of love to our branding (proper capitalization *gasp*)
- Got rid of those pesky Spring bugs
