It is not a traditional night vision tool and does not use hardware infrared or thermal sensors. Some ambient visibility is required for optimal results. All screenshots are taken directly from the app. COMMON QUESTIONS Is this real night vision? No, and we would rather say it here than let you find out after installing. An iPhone has no infrared or thermal sensor. On LiDAR models the app uses the depth sensor, which works in the dark up to about five metres; on every other device it is computational enhancement of a dim image, and some ambient light is needed. Which iPhones have LiDAR? iPhone 12 Pro and newer Pro models, and iPad Pro. On those you get the depth mode. The low-light filters run on any iPhone or iPad. Does it work in complete darkness? Only in LiDAR depth mode, and only within the sensor's range. A camera filter cannot make light that is not there. Can it record video? Yes, with the night effects applied as you record. Does it need internet? No. Are the screenshots real? Yes. All of them are taken straight from the app, with no retouching. You found a real bug, and it was ours.In the dark the scanner returns a lot of low-confidence readings close to zero, and the app was averaging them into the distance measurement. That pulled the reading under 30 cm and left "Too close" on screen permanently — worst of all in exactly the pitch-black conditions the app is for.Version 1.3.1 is in review with Apple now. It filters those low-confidence readings out and takes the median instead, so the distance reads correctly in a dark room. The same update fixes the larger problem behind it: LiDAR mode had stopped drawing from the scanner at all, so it now opens on the real depth view, which needs no light.Thank you for reporting it, and sorry you hit it.

Contrast and gamma were printed with six decimals in Hindi instead of two — a lost dot in the translated text turned "1.23x" into "1.234567x". Fixed.
