You can now chat with the model of your choice about any document, topic (set of documents), or conversation. Just tap the arrow next to any item (or just hold down an item to get the contextual menu) and select chat. Your chats are saved just like any other generated paper or conversation. And you can even turn them into audio.

Big update! (1) Topics: You can now group together library items into topics and enTalkenate conversations, papers, workshops, and more that cover whole topics. Just tag an item with a topic and it and its text are added to the topic. You can see all your topics in the Topics tab. Think research projects where you can now get summaries, workshops, or critical drafts that respond to all the papers that you've tagged as part of the project. And you can enTalkenate based on the full text of all the items in a topic (if the model supports that much text) or based on summaries or excerpts of those items.
(2) Speaking of summaries, in Settings you'll now find an option to create summaries of items automatically when you add them. Add a paper or web page and a summary will appear shortly after. This is a great feature if you're gathering many papers together in a research project.
In addition, of course, are various other enhancements and the fixing of many bugs (including a particularly nasty bug that affected choosing templates).

Because Google disabled Gemini 2.5 Pro free tier, we've removed it as an option. You can use Gemini 2.5 Flash free (within rate limits) or on a paid plan. Several other bug fixes and adjustments to default models.

Added an easy way to set the language you'd like enTalkenator to output. Either in settings or right in the enTalkenator view, you can enter the language you'd like. And if the model can handle it (and if the model complies), that's what you'll get. Translation is now super-simple.
Also added Mistral OCR as an option for transcription. It's very fast and very cheap.
Also, of course, bug fixes and a few other enhancements.

Big update! The Library Item view has been spruced up and simplified, including a "tap and hold" gesture to delete and share conversations. And when you create another conversation of the same type, enTalkenator now automatically moves your old conversation to v2 (or v3 or v4). You can delete it if you want, or you can have, say, 20 different "First Draft" papers.
For subscribers, you can now use AI to create a new conversation template directly from the conversation template picker, without going to the Templates tab. We also modified the prompt a bit for AI-assisted template generation. It's still an experimental feature.
OpenAI's o3 model is now an option (but with a warning about needing to obtain access and a link for doing so).
Also, assorted bug fixes and improved reporting of AI-provider errors.
