Shady practices when it comes to actually trialing this app. 1. It didn’t work and when it beeped it was incorrect. 2. I ended up getting a stud finder from Home Depot to see and yeah it was wrong. They charge you before the trial is even over. So even though I cancelled this stupid app they charged me anyway and am having to go through the process of getting my money back for an app I didn’t even use.

Billing and trials are processed entirely by Apple, not by us — we have no ability to charge outside that system. If you cancelled and were still charged, request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple normally approves cases like this quickly. On detection: calibrating away from metal and sweeping slowly is what makes the readings respond.

I really hoped this would work as I needed to hang a couple of heavy items. Did not find a single stud in the entire wall. Ended up going out and buying a regular one (the wall had plenty of studs...).

Sorry it didn't deliver when you had real work to do. The app finds studs by sensing their metal screws and nails, so technique matters: calibrate away from metal, keep the phone flat on the wall, sweep slowly with sensitivity raised. Many 'found nothing' cases turn around with those steps — worth one more try before the hardware finder gets all the credit.

I literally used the app with a wall that I could see the studs from the back, and it would not detect wooden studs as advertised. I tried multiple sensitivity settings and still nothing.
