In honor of Global Accessibility Awareness Day and Teacher's Day, we're introducing support for more ways to interface with the app. Now we support keyboard and mouse on iPad and Mac as well as the Apple TV remote, enabling educators to use the app in-class. Now available on the "big screen" as well as the Mac!

This Mother’s Day, we’re putting our best face forward with Emotions, helping little ones learn to name and explore the emotions they feel every day. From joy and surprise to sadness and anger, this helps children begin the lifelong journey of emotional literacy. While we’re still adding more — now, how do we show the feeling of LOVE for mommy in an emoji?! — this launch is a first step toward teaching empathy, recognition, and the power of sharing how we feel.

It's Children's Day in many parts of the world! To celebrate the little ones, we've been doing the little things that make a big impact. Introducing: interactive widgets! Now your child can have their favorite lessons right on the Home Screen just a tap away, and you can even set up a Letter of the Day, Number of the Day or any "lesson of the day" with the Discoveries widget. View a beautiful rainbow to tap directly into a color, or edit the widget to showcase other lessons like Shapes or Letters. They're interactive so they're like mini versions of the app. Tiny but powerful, just like your little one(s)!

Speech is now more organic and realistic. The best improvement is if you add a Personal Voice! Or download a Premium voice like Zoe--it's free, just head to Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Voices.

As a mother and father team, we build this for our own preschool child. New learning modules are being released once they’re kid-approved. Just in: Alphabet and phonics. Choose a letter to see uppercase and lowercase forms with their phonetic sounds used with real-world examples. For our Plus subscribers, a new Numbers/Counting module! But here’s the big one: Use your OWN VOICE to capture your child’s interest in the app. Using Personal Voice, you record a few phrases and the app will use those in teaching, such as saying “A: Apple, B: Banana”. It uses Apple’s latest and greatest tech, so you know you can trust it’s private and secure. We’ve also done an audit for legibility using the latest in learning research. Now we use simpler and more legible forms of the lowercase a, certain numbers, and so on. Fonts are very adjustable so if you’d like much larger text you can easily change your settings in Control Center and we’ll support it.
