MeshCore is a simple, secure, off-grid mesh communications system.
Build your own low-cost, long-range, encrypted messaging network.
You can still send messages even when WiFi, Cellular, and Starlink are down.
To use this app, you must have a supported LoRa radio device, that has been flashed with the MeshCore Companion Firmware.
Once you've installed the app, you will need to:
- Pair with your MeshCore device using Bluetooth.
- Set a custom display name.
- and, Configure your LoRa radio settings.
That's it! You can now advertise yourself on the network using the signal icon, and send messages to other users you have discovered on the same frequency.
When other devices on the network have been discovered, they will show up in your contacts list.

more It’s just incredible that this has been made available so quickly. Five stars for that! I’m excited to get started, but I’m having some difficulty. I’ve successfully flashed my Heltec v3 and configured it over Bluetooth it with the web client (mac os, chrome.) I’ve disconnected from the web client, and I cannot connect via Bluetooth with this new app. I’m stuck on “waiting for device to connect”. Maybe I’m missing something?

Overall, this app is fantastic and serves as a good “oh no, everything else broke” communication method. The main improvement I’d like to see is an in-app way to make devices hibernate/sleep/power down, like how Meshtastic does it. Not every node will have a way to do this without the help of an app. Due to this, I’m only having my Heltec v3 with the firmware for now until this issue is managed. Aside from that the app is amazing, and I’m giving it a 5/5

First of all, let me say that I’m a huge fan of MeshCore and am extremely excited about the momentum behind this project. The iOS companion app is very cool and when it works, it works extremely well. Unfortunately there is a fatal flaw that prevents it from being a reliable means of communication: Bluetooth connected nodes constantly get disconnected. Like anywhere from 15 mins to several hours, the BT connection inside the app always gets severed. There is no alert, or any way to know the connection is down without manually checking the app and reconnecting.A competing project, Meshtastic, does not suffer the same issue with their iOS app, while connected to the exact same BT devices, so I know it’s technically possible to solve.Until this is fixed, I am unfortunately unable to rate this app the 5-stars that I want to give it. It’s just completely unreliable. Looking forward to a fix and adjusting my rating & review!
