Swift Eyes
AI-Powered Visual Descriptions
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Swift Eyes is an AI-powered image recognition app designed to support people with visual impairments. It analyzes images taken with the camera or shared from apps like Photos, and provides a text description of the content. Because it is optimized for the VoiceOver screen reader, it automatically reads the text aloud once the analysis is completed.
Caution: This app provides AI recognition results for reference purposes only and is not intended to replace measures for ensuring personal safety while moving around or to substitute for medical practices. For more details, please refer to the Terms of Use displayed when you launch the app.

3.2.2 Jun 17
Update based on your feedback for 3.2.0. This small update focuses on improvingday-to-day usability.
[VoiceOver experience improvements]
- AI responses are now read out in full with a single one-finger right swipe (unified into a single accessibility element).
- Analysis completion is announced with a light haptic and a soft completion sound(gentle, music-box-like).
- Several settings descriptions (e.g. camera settings) that were left in English have been translated into Japanese.
[Easier AI tool selection]
- Fixed an issue where some tools were displayed twice in the tool picker.
- "Read Expiration Date," "Find an Empty Seat," and "Read Price" are now organized as scenario-specific tools.
[Switch tools to re-analyze instantly]
On the analysis screen, switching tools now automatically re-analyzes the same photo with the newly selected tool. No extra action needed.
[Better date reading on receipts and printed content]
We refined how the AI handles the photo's capture time versus dates printed in the image (such as purchase dates on receipts). When you ask about the purchase date on a receipt, the AI now correctly reports the printed date instead of the capture time.
3.2.1 Jun 16
3.2.0 brings major improvements to analysis accuracy and everyday usability.
[Additional info for AI]
Save your situation, preferences, and goals to your profile, and Swift Eye automatically reflects them in every
analysis and question. The "Add this to memory" button also lets you save your corrections to the AI's descriptions
for future reference.
[Choose your response length]
Pick from Concise / Standard / Detailed — short and to the point, or thorough when you want to understand something
deeply.
[Time-aware natural descriptions]
The AI now considers the photo's capture time, reducing oddities like "evening dusk" descriptions for morning
photos. No setup needed on your side.
[New scene-specific tools]
Read Expiration Date / Find an Empty Seat / Read Price — dedicated tools you can choose based on the situation.
[Auto low-light enhancement]
Photos taken in dim lighting are automatically brightened before being sent to the AI.
[Flash behavior on launch]
Flash now resets to OFF each time you open the app, helping prevent unintended flashes and reducing the mental load
of staying mindful of your surroundings. You can choose to keep your previous setting in Camera Settings.
[History cloud sync / multi-device & device change]
Analysis history and AI settings (additional info, response style, camera settings, etc.) sync across your devices.
[Accessibility improvements]
VoiceOver announcements at key moments (analysis start/complete, question sent, photo taken) and support for
standard iOS gestures (two-finger Z swipe, two-finger double-tap) across every screen.
[Learning data contribution (optional)]
You decide whether to help improve the AI. OFF by default.
[Other]
iOS Shortcuts support, TOMOMIRAI account foundation, and data deletion feature.
3.2.0 Jun 15
A hotfix release that addresses issues reported after 3.1.2.
Key fixes
Fixed the in-app contact form failing to send.
Improved the contact email body layout (typing space at the top, boilerplate at the bottom).
Fixed in parallel on the server side
Tapping the email sign-in link now reliably returns you to the app.
Apple Sign-In can again return you to your existing account, and the "logged out after a few days" issue has been addressed via Apple Sign-In configuration updates.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
3.1.3 May 23
A hotfix release that addresses several serious issues reported in 3.1.1. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
Key fixes
* Camera settings (silent mode, countdown, etc.) no longer reset to defaults after a cold start.
* Fixed a crash on iPhone 17 Pro and other newer devices that occurred right after taking a photo.
* The manual flash toggle button has been restored to the main screen, next to the shutter button.
* Silent mode can now use the device LED as a pseudo-flash for low-light capture.
* Fixed a VoiceOver issue where Copy only captured the last line of the message.
* The Back button in the chat view now reads clearly with VoiceOver instead of the fallback app name.
* Fixed an unresponsive "Choose photo" button on certain devices.
* Fixed an issue where opening Swift Eye from another app's share menu would re-prompt for terms agreement.
* Fixed the "Rate on the App Store" button so it now opens the review page directly.
* Sort order on the analysis history is now persisted across launches.
New & improved
* The main camera screen buttons have been redesigned as a unified circular set.
* The AI analysis result is now pre-filled into the description field when saving a photo, so VoiceOver can read it back when
the photo is touched in Photos.
* The description input is now a multi-line editor for easier reading and editing (helpful for low-vision users).
* A new "Photo save settings" page lets you pre-select the default albums where photos are saved.
* Simplified the "Choose how to save" dialog for camera-captured photos.
A note on data: due to platform constraints around the recent change of app ownership, settings, analysis history, and the
signed-in state from versions before 3.1 cannot be restored in this build. You will need to sign in again and reconfigure your
preferences. From this version onward, settings are stored in a way that prevents this from happening again.
3.1.2 May 5
Updated contact information and related links due to app transfer.
3.1.1 Apr 23
We fixed a bug where the silent camera settings would revert to their original state when the app was closed.
