I got these fun googly eyes for the sole purpose of adding a little whimsy to my Macs menu bar. (nailed it) I’m also convinced this is the sole purpose for which Sindre Sorhus developed his Googly Eyes App, (again, nailed it) releasing it for FREE. - I truly mean this with kindness - Anyone leaving negative reviews about this, or any other totally free app… well, don’t. You’re not actually reviewing a purchase you made, you’re literally complaining about a free gift that you chose and can easily delete.

As the description says, the eyes on inactive secondary displays are clones of the original, which is unfortunate. It would be nice if the developer could figure out how to have the eyes track correctly so that each set of eyes is looking at the cursor. I assume there isn’t an API to access the macOS Display arrangement. But why not build something in Googly Eye settings that allows the user to map out the display arrangement? Also, the performance could be improved. The pupils occasionally jump around and don’t animate smoothly… and I have a M2 Ultra. I’ll keep it installed because it reminds me of a similar thing I had on my Amiga 30 years ago!

I thought my top bar was complete, but now I know I just hadn’t yet found this app. It follows the mouse around, blinks when I click, and the set of eyes moves to whichever of my multi-screens I have highlighted. High recommendation.

This little app solves a problem that used to frustrate me all the time: finding the cursor when it decides to hide. Now I just wiggle my finger on my trackpad and watch where the eyes are looking. On top of that, it’s *cute*!I love it!
