Wood Identifier AI Scanner Scan any wood type, lumber, or timber and identify it with AI! Wood Identifier is an all-in-one wood identifier built for seasoned carpenters all the way to complete beginners. Simply scan or upload a photo of wood, bark, or a leaf, and Wood Identifier will suggest the most likely wood species in seconds. Unlock the Secrets of Every Wood Transform your curiosity into expertise with Wood Identifier – the AI wood identification tool for woodworkers, furniture makers, DIYers, and enthusiasts. Why Wood Identifier Stands Apart: - AI Wood Identification: Our AI analyzes grain patterns, color variations, and texture to suggest the wood species, with a confidence score and the reasons behind it. When it isn't sure, it shows other possible matches. - Wood Library: Explore 20 popular wood types – from oak, maple, and walnut to teak, ebony, and exotic timber – with Janka hardness, workability, sustainability, and finishing tips. - Detailed Wood Information: Every identification shows hardness, density, color, and common uses for your wood type. - Compare Woods: Put two wood species side by side to choose the right material for your project. - Scan History: Save your scans on your device, export your history as a PDF, and share wood details. Perfect For: - Woodworkers evaluating potential materials - DIY enthusiasts making on-site identifications - Furniture shoppers learning more about a piece - Carpentry students exploring wood science - Professionals needing a quick wood reference Please Note: AI results can be wrong. Wood identifier / scam
04/19/2025
Richard MWehrenberg
I made the mistake and instead of using the free trial, I just bought a yearly subscription. Very unhappy every piece of wood I tried it on was wrong except the oak. Because on this app. Everything is oak. I checked choke cherry, mulberry, maple logs that I cut and going to mill. Every one was oak according to this app. Hopefully it will be better when the leaves come or bark on. I only use it on end cuts. 🙁

Developer Response

Tried many IDs - most gave me back an error message, one was correct, and a couple were incorrectly identified. App was buggy during use, plus scammy paywall. Thumbs down 👎
