Translate is a fast, private translator that runs entirely on your iPhone. It uses Apple's on-device translation engine, so what you say and type never leaves your phone — and it keeps working with no signal at all.
HOLD TO SPEAK
Press anywhere on the screen, say it, and let go. The translation appears in large, clear text and is read aloud in a natural voice.
CONVERSATION
Two people, one phone. Each side taps or holds their own language; Translate listens, translates and speaks the reply. Every exchange is saved so you can replay it later.
CAMERA
Point the camera at a sign, a menu or a document and the text is translated in place. Freeze the frame to read everything, or pick a photo from your library.
TYPE OR PASTE
A two-field translator that translates as you type. Paste a screenshot and its text is read on your phone and translated the same way.
SIRI AND SHORTCUTS
Say "Translate with Translate", or add the Translate Text action to any Shortcut and use the result anywhere.
PRIVATE AND OFFLINE
No account, no servers, no data collection. Download a language once and it works on a plane, on the metro, anywhere.

Translate includes free translations every day. Translate Pro removes the daily limit; it is offered as a yearly subscription with a free trial, a monthly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account and subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel any time in Settings.

Ready for iOS 27, with a new home for every way to translate:
• Speak, Type, Conversation and Camera are now tabs at the bottom — switch with one tap
• Type: a two-field translator that translates as you type; paste a screenshot and its text is read on your iPhone (Paste needs iOS 27)
• Camera: change languages from the camera view, and clearer labels over the live picture
• Siri and Shortcuts: the new "Translate Text" action
• A fresh teal look, an easier-to-read paywall, and colour themes that meet accessibility contrast guidelines
Also fixed: translations that never came back now show a message instead of waiting forever, and speech recognition stays on your device wherever the language supports it.
