Next Social App
Social Networking
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Your Social Layer for Real-World Events.
NextSocial connects you to the people and moments around the events you attend. Whether it's a concert, conference,
house party, or pickup game -- see what's happening, join the conversation, and relive it all later.
How it works:
RSVP to events. Post photos, chirps, and moments tied to those events. Discover what others are sharing at the same
ones. It's social media that starts with showing up.
Features:
- Event-Scoped Content: Every post, photo, and chirp is tied to a real event -- giving your content context and your
memories a place.
- Chirps: Quick, threaded text posts about the events you're at. Think live commentary from the crowd.
- Media: Share photos from events with a streamlined upload flow. Browse a quilted discover grid to see what's
happening around you.
- Moments: Ephemeral stories and boomerangs from your day, right from the main tab.
- Discover Feed: Browse public events and content even before you RSVP. Find your next thing to attend.
- AI Event Creation: Describe your event and let AI fill in the details -- schedule, recurrence, ticketing, all of
it.
- Profile Showcase: A redesigned profile with a showcase of up to 8 photos, drag-to-reorder, and one-tap profile
picture swap.
- Reactions and Messaging: Long-press to react, swipe to reply in chats, create events directly from conversations,
and share invites with a tap.
- Browse First, Sign Up Later: Explore the app freely. You'll only be asked to sign in when you want to post or
interact.
NextSocial is built around a simple idea: the best content comes from shared experiences. Stop scrolling past
strangers. Start connecting at the events that matter to you.
---
The main shifts from your old copy:
- "Milestones" to "Events" -- the app is no longer about life milestones, it's about real-world events you attend
- Passive to active -- old copy was about documenting memories; new copy is about participating in live events
- Feature list reflects actual product -- chirps, media, moments, RSVP, discover, AI creation, showcase profiles
- Removed features that no longer exist -- timeline view, smart reminders, milestone posting
more - Discover -- Browsing events is cleaner and easier to scan, with clearer day counts, tidier series labels, and events you're hosting no longer repeating your own name.
- Your Events -- Your profile has a new Events tab, and events you're pending or waitlisted for are clearly marked.
- Creating Events -- Events without a cover photo get a polished branded look. Setting up a repeating event is clearer, with a visible end date, and repeating events keep their local time when the clocks change.
- Hosting -- Hosts see pending guest requests right on the guest list, live event tracking while an event is happening, and a simpler door view for checking guests in.
- Check-In -- Scanning a ticket for a free event checks the guest in straight away, and your ticket's QR code now opens full screen so it's easy to scan at the door.
- After the Event -- Guests can share how an event went, and hosts get a follow-up once it wraps up.
- Sharing Photos -- Picking the event for a photo or video post now works the same way it does for posts, and a stalled upload can be retried with one tap.
- Fixes -- Invites you previously declined can be accepted again, form errors no longer hide behind the keyboard at large text sizes, and event menus only appear when there's something you can do.
2.5.0 4d ago
- Photo Drop -- Share photos from an event straight into a shared drop that everyone who attended can browse.
- Posting to events -- Choosing which event a photo or video belongs to is quicker. A new chirp now opens on your soonest live or upcoming event.
- Reliable uploads -- Photos and videos keep uploading in the background, and you can see where each post stands.
- Your posts on your profile -- Your profile has a grid of everything you've posted.
- See who engaged -- See who liked your posts. If you hide your like count, it stays hidden everywhere, including Discover.
- Liked by you -- Posts you've liked show it at a glance.
- Conversations -- Chirp threads read more clearly, show people's display names, and deleted replies leave a tidy gap instead of breaking the thread.
- Polish and fixes -- Cleaner photo and video screens, clearer delete confirmations, and fixes for event series, imported events and the guest view.
2.4.0 Oct 20
- Easier to get around -- Your profile, alerts and messages now sit at the top of the main screens, so they're always one tap away.
- A better first visit -- New members start on Discover, guests see a clear Join button, and imported events no longer show "0 going".
- Event invites -- Accepting an invite now saves your RSVP, and the invite and RSVP screens always show your current answer. Hosts are told when a guest is moved off the waitlist or approved.
- Drafts -- Posting a draft now asks which event it belongs to, closes the composer once, and removes the draft. This fixes a crash and accidental double posts.
- Boomerangs -- Boomerangs fill the screen, play smoothly in the editor, and pause when you hold them. If one fails to process, you can retry or delete it.
- Groups -- Editing a group saves each change on its own, and renames and new icons update for everyone in the group.
- Reporting -- A comment you've reported now shows "Reported" in its menu.
- Fixes and polish -- Clearer confirmations in place of pop-up messages, scheduled posts that failed stay visible, and many smaller layout and accessibility fixes.
2.3.3 Oct 15
- Cleaner feedback -- Confirmations and errors now show up right where you're working, instead of in pop-up bars at the bottom of the screen.
- Moments -- Expired moments, highlights and your moments feed behave more predictably.
- Group chats -- Group messages arrive more reliably, unread badges now count group chats, and a photo that fails to send shows a retry button.
- Hidden posts -- Posts you hide stay hidden on that account, look the same everywhere, and come back with Unhide.
- Larger text -- The Portal, review lists, moment insights and other screens now fit at the largest text sizes.
- Notifications -- Tapping a notification marks it as read, and mention notifications say what you were mentioned in.
- Posting -- If a scheduled post can't publish, or a post is blocked, the app tells you instead of the post quietly disappearing.
- Profiles -- Your follower count updates the moment you follow someone, and switching accounts keeps everything with the right account.
- Safety -- Stronger protections so no one can post or share content in your name.
- Fixes -- Deleting from your timeline refreshes the grid, library event covers show correctly, and a removed post now tells you it's gone.
2.3.2 Oct 12
- Scheduled posts -- Schedule a post straight from your Personal tab. Your files upload before it's scheduled, and cancelling a scheduled post now takes effect right away.
- Threads -- Keep a chirp thread going from the menu on your own chirp.
- Discover layout -- Choose Auto, Grid or List for Discover. Auto is one tap away.
- Email -- Account emails look like NextSocial. The Verify Email screen tells you what it's waiting for, opens your inbox, and lets you fix a mistyped address.
- RSVPs and tickets -- Your RSVP shows where your request stands and lets you withdraw it. Free tickets follow your RSVP and leave your wallet when you withdraw.
- Check-in -- Organizers see clearly which event's code they're scanning, and withdrawn guests no longer linger on the list.
- Larger text -- Sign-up, sign-in, the Terms page, the composer and messages all fit at the largest text sizes.
- Safer links -- Links in event descriptions and feature requests only open where they say they go.
2.3.1 Oct 10
- Places and Mentions -- Add a real place to your moment and mention friends who can see it. Before you share, you're asked about any mention that would be dropped.
- Mute -- Mute someone's moments from their profile or a moment, and they leave your Following and Discover feeds.
- Highlights -- Build highlights from your past moments and group them.
- Reliable posting -- Moments resume after an interruption, show their progress, and tell you clearly if something failed.
- Moments, refreshed -- The editor and viewer are easier to read and use, and the grid shows what's live and who can see it.
- Discover -- Browse events a day at a time with quick filters, and find what's near you.
- Manage hub -- Organizers manage their events, attendees and questions in one place.
- Blocking -- See who you've blocked and unblock them. People you block no longer show up in your feeds.
- Reporting -- Report a moment that breaks the rules.
- Photo Drop -- An unfinished drop can be resumed or discarded.
- Check-in on iPhone -- The door check-in looks and feels native on iPhone.
2.3.0 Oct 4
- Messages -- Your inbox now always shows the right person's name and photo, even as new messages move conversations around, and one damaged conversation can no longer blank the whole list. Unread badges clear as soon as you read a thread.
- Notifications -- Tapping a notification when the app is closed now takes you straight to the right conversation or page instead of the home screen.
- Links -- Shared links to events, posts, chirps, moments and recaps now open the right page in the app.
- Event pages -- A cleaner header shows at a glance when an event is happening now, and the page updates on its own when an event starts or ends.
- Share & Connect -- Your profile QR code now comes first, so connecting with someone takes one tap.
- Posts -- If a post gets stuck in review because of an error, you can now ask for it to be checked again.
- Group chats -- Groups you start stay with your account, and group photos upload more reliably.
- Reliability -- Fixed an issue that could freeze some Android devices on the loading screen, plus a range of smaller fixes.
2.2.0 Sep 28
- Pre-Event Introductions -- Before an event starts, you can now see suggested people to meet based on what you have in common. Organizers choose when to share them.
- Stopping Introductions -- The "Stop introductions for this event" control now reflects what is actually set, so it no longer says introductions are off while they are still running.
- Photo Library -- Photos stored in iCloud no longer disappear when you pick them. They download in place, so nothing goes missing from the picker or Photo Drop.
- Readable Event Cards -- Titles and captions over photos now stay legible on every image, in both light and dark mode.
- Dark Mode -- Colours and QR code cards now look right in dark mode instead of washing out.
- RSVP -- Tapping to join an event now follows that event's real rules and capacity, and the dialog closes properly once you are in.
- Check-In -- The guest list refreshes when you come back to it, and searching no longer shows results from an earlier scan.
- Following -- Opening someone from your follow requests now takes you to their profile instead of crashing.
- Captions -- Caption and chirp length limits now match what the box actually accepts, so your text is never silently cut.
- Leaving a Draft -- One clear prompt when you back out of a post, and the back gesture can no longer skip it.
2.1.0 Sep 17
- Run Event -- Check guests in at the door with a live view of who has arrived, scan tickets with the camera, and handle an already-scanned ticket without turning anyone away.
- Event Recap -- After your event ends you get a recap of how many people you reached, plus a ready-made list to re-invite next time.
- Questions for Guests -- Ask the people who RSVP whatever you need to know, with a rebuilt editor, ready-made templates, and answers that carry over so guests do not retype them at your next event.
- Creating an Event -- A simpler create screen, descriptions with real formatting, and event types that start you off with the right questions.
- Your Ticket -- Your ticket is easy to find again after you buy, and you can add the event to your calendar or get directions straight from it.
- Capacity and Approvals -- Limited-capacity events hold places properly, waitlists move in order, and approving or declining a request is instant and stays put.
- Photos -- A smoother upload flow, and photos no longer sit hidden waiting on a review they did not need.
- Getting Around -- Rebuilt Personal tabs with a quick-add button, and saved photos, saved chirps and past events keep loading as you scroll instead of stopping at the first page.
- Polish -- Clearer contrast across the app, tidier empty screens, and a steadier Media, Chirps and News layout on the event page.
- Fixes -- Event form fields no longer freeze while typing, Invite People no longer crashes, and phone numbers save the way you enter them.
2.0.14 Sep 12
- Photo Drop Gallery -- Organizers now have a dedicated gallery to see every photo shared at their event, laid out in a clean grid that keeps each photo in its original shape.
- Faster Photo Sharing -- Photos you add to a Photo Drop now appear right away and finish uploading in the background, so you're never stuck watching a progress bar.
- More Reliable Uploads -- Your photos keep uploading even if the app closes or crashes, and pick up right where they left off when you return.
- Smoother Browsing -- Photos and event media now load without spinners as you swipe through carousels or switch tabs.
- Media Feed Fixes -- The photo feed now loads correctly even when you follow a lot of people.
- Clearer Upload Messages -- A failed upload and a photo that didn't pass content checks now show distinct, easy-to-understand messages.
- Richer Notifications -- Photo Drop notifications now show the cover photo, so you can see what's new at a glance.
1.0.13 Jun 29
- In-App Photo Picker -- Choosing an event cover now opens a fast, in-app grid of your recent device photos with a built-in camera
shortcut, instead of bouncing out to the system photo picker.
- Use Current Location -- Event creation now has a GPS button next to the location field that fills in your current spot in one tap.
- Preview Before Publishing -- Creating an event now opens a dedicated preview page that shows exactly how the event will look to
attendees before you publish.
- Smarter Edit Screen -- When editing an event, the action bar shows a precise count of how many fields you've changed before you save.
- Cleaner Location Toggle -- The physical vs. virtual location switch is now a tappable link instead of a permanent card, keeping the
form less cluttered.
- Tap to Swap Cover -- In create and edit mode, tap the cover image directly to change it.
- Calendar Fix -- Adding an event to your calendar no longer leaves the date row stuck on a loading spinner.
- Appeal a Blocked Post -- If your media gets blocked, you can now tap to add context and request a human review.
- Moderator Review Queue -- Moderators get a new two-tab queue for reviewing appeals and overriding false-positive blocks.
2.0.12 May 22
- Event Details Redesign -- A unified hero now appears on every event (native and imported): your image sits at its natural aspect ratio with rounded corners over a softly-blurred version of itself, and the background drifts at quarter speed as you scroll for a more cinematic feel.
- Moderation Chip on Your Media -- Your own media now shows a small status chip (pending, under review, blocked, or live) so you always know where it stands. If something is held for review, tap the chip to add context and ask the moderation system to take another look.
- Organizer Prefill on Imported Events -- When you paste a Luma or other event URL on the import screen, the organizer field now prefills automatically.
- Live Author Avatars in Event Media -- Author profile photos in the Media tab now update live to match the person's current avatar, just like Chirps does.
2.0.11 May 10
Imported Event Redesign -- Imported events now feature a sharp 1:1 image with a subtle mirror reflection beneath, an edge-to-edge glass details card, and a tap-to-zoom hero so you can inspect the image at full resolution.
Two-Line Event Titles -- Long event titles no longer get cut off in the details header; they now wrap to two lines so the full name is always visible.
Going Count -- The attendance number on event details now reads "Going" and reflects everyone with real go-intent -- attending, pending, waitlisted, and external invitees rolled up -- so you get a true sense of who's showing up.
Post While Pending or Waitlisted -- If you've RSVP'd to an event but you're still pending approval or on the waitlist, you can now post chirps and media at that event while you wait.
Cleaner Discover Feed -- Events you've already RSVP'd to are now filtered out of Discover, so the feed focuses on events you haven't engaged with yet.
Live Event Indicator -- Cards on the Discover and grouped lists now show a single consistent "Now" badge for in-progress events, replacing the duplicate badges that previously collided in the same corner.
