From the beginning, we have always been determined to ensure that different music streaming platforms should not stand in the way of that mission.
With Version 2.1, we have made intentional updates to every part of the TuneTransit experience that make the app even better than ever while making the act of sharing music with your friends that much easier. Our new Pride theme is the most obvious addition, but we have also made several updates behind the scenes such as utilizing new technologies to supercharge your TuneTransit searches. As always, we recommend getting this update downloaded ASAP!
This update contains the following new features, bug fixes, and improvements:

Now Boarding: TuneTransit v2.0 - Tap To Tune, Live Capture, Mac Support, and Bug Fixes!
One year ago, TuneTransit began development with one mission: allowing music to be easily shared in the moment, regardless of streaming platform. Since our launch in June, we have continued to improve the platform with feature updates and improvements to continue making this mission a reality for our users.
With Version 2.0, we have added two new features that enrich the TuneTransit experience: Tap to Tune and Live Capture! Tap to Tune allows you to share a track from Now Playing with one tap, and Live Capture listens to the world around you to search music via your device's microphone. In support of these features, we have also redesigned the Home tab on iPhone and iPad to seamlessly integrate them into the app.
In addition to these new features, we have also added another device to our compatibility list - Mac! Version 2.0 provides native support for TuneTransit on both Intel and Apple Silicon-based Macs while introducing a new Home tab design that is also rolling out on iPad.
This update contains the following new features, improvements, and bug fixes:
New Features:
- Introducing Tap to Tune! When a song is playing on TuneTransit, you can now select Tap to Tune to quickly share it with someone, regardless of what streaming platform they use. This allows music to be shared even faster in the moment without needing to load an entire TuneTransit search. Try it out today, and let us know what you think! (Available for TuneTransit Premium users on iPhone, iPad, and Vision Pro)
- Introducing Live Capture! On the Home tab, you can select the Live Capture option to use your device's microphone to identify a song playing around you. Upon identifying the song, you can then search it directly in TuneTransit! (Available for all TuneTransit users on all platforms)

Now Boarding: TuneTransit v1.9.1 - Bug Fixes and Improvements!
As February comes to a close and winter continues to proceed, we are continuing to improve the TuneTransit experience as a whole. Some might say that our true love for Valentine's Day this year was our users... or maybe our shared love for music sounds better? Either way, we are here to bridge the music sharing gap between you and your friends, no matter how close y'all are.
Version 1.9.1 is all about fixing bugs and making improvements across TuneTransit! Throughout the application, we have made improvements that are noticeable by all users, especially since the release of our last major update (Version 1.9) -- so be sure to update as soon as possible. (As an additional reminder to those that have not updated in a while, please do so by March 9th to ensure full compatibility with Spotify searches)
This update contains the following bug fixes and improvements:
Improvements:

Bug Fixes:
- We fixed several bugs that affected the ordering of Apple Music tracks in the Recently Played section of our Search tab.

- We fixed a bug where the Close button on our manual search option would be hard to select on all platforms.
- We fixed a bug where non-premium users would sometimes see a glitched search result when their daily search limit has been met.
- We fixed a bug where animations would sometimes glitch when new tracks were added to the Recently Played section of our Search tab.
As always, thank you for using TuneTransit and we look forward to continuing to deliver a seamless music sharing experience!

Now Boarding: TuneTransit v1.9 - Spotify Upgrades, Search Improvements, UI Refinements, and Bug Fixes!
Since our Aurora upgrade last month, we have been hard at work in making the TuneTransit experience even better for our riders. Beyond that however, we are also making upgrades to our infrastructure that will allow TuneTransit to continue operating at full capacity well into the future. In order to continue providing an optimal experience for all of our supported platforms, we knew that we had to be creative in how we work behind the scenes to ensure the same experience you know and love, but with improvements all around.
In this update, we have notably upgraded our Spotify search engine to be more resilient, accurate, and in some cases faster than our previous releases! As Spotify continues to modernize their platform, this new engine allows us to continue supporting their platform in the near term while also ensuring compatibility with future releases on both sides.
NOTE: With this change, all TuneTransit users will need to be on Version 1.9 by March 9th to ensure continued compatibility with Spotify searches -- so be sure to get this one installed ASAP!

Of course, this means that we also want to bring TuneTransit to new devices and form factors to meet you where you are at.
In this update, we are thrilled to announce that we are adding another device to the TuneTransit compatibility list - Vision Pro! Version 1.8.2 continues that mission with a handful of bug fixes and improvements recommended for all TuneTransit users. Of course... we want to make sure that we still have some new surprises in store as well!
With that in mind, this update contains the following bug fixes and improvements:
Improvements:
- We have added a new double tap action to our Search tab icon on iPhone! By double tapping the Search icon after a search has completed, this will immediately route you back to the main Search page to kick off your next search. This improvement was inspired by our power users, so be sure to check it out to make your searching experience that much faster!
- We have upgraded the design of our Smart Links to match our new Aurora redesign! Any smart links that are generated will now have a modified design with subtle improvements and styling reminiscent of the main app.
- We have refactored our TuneTransit backend logic to deliver improved stability and performance across the TuneTransit experience.
Bug Fixes:
- We fixed a bug where album artwork may not load into a TuneTransit search initiated from a Recently Played item on the Search tab.
- We fixed a bug where the ordering of Recently Played and Station items would be sometimes incorrect for Apple Music users.
- We fixed a bug where TuneTransit would sometimes publish Apple Music tracks twice to the Recently Played list and Station feed.
- We fixed a bug where corrupted Last.fm user profiles would prevent any activity from occurring -- these users will now get a prompt to re-add their Last.fm connection to TuneTransit.
As always, thank you for using TuneTransit and we look forward to continuing to deliver a seamless music sharing experience!

Introducing TuneTransit 1.8: The Aurora Update!
For our first major update of 2026, we wanted to set a foundation that would push us towards our goal of becoming the ultimate music sharing app. In doing so, it became clear that TuneTransit needed an identity for its users -- a design that would look and feel like the service that they use on a daily basis. When we were finished with an entire weekend of creating this massive upgrade, there was only one word that could describe it: Aurora.
Aurora is our new design language embedded across the entire TuneTransit experience, and it's clearly the biggest design upgrade that we have delivered to the app since launch. Notably, this design touches every part of TuneTransit to provide the same features you know and love, but with a premium feel. From App Themes to a redesigned Navigation Bar, there is something in this update for everyone!
NOTE: Version 1.8.1 has been released to deliver several bug fixes and performance improvements, including a fix for a critical bug introduced in Version 1.8 that would cause TuneTransit to stop operating properly in times of heavy network activity. See the changelog for more information, and update as soon as possible!

- Introducing our new Now Playing design! This enhancement combines our new Aurora design with artwork immersion to deliver a beautiful new UI. Check it out!
- Introducing App Themes! You can now customize TuneTransit with 4 styles: Aurora, Midnight, Transit, and Classic. Head over to Settings to switch between them seamlessly!
- Introducing our redesigned Navigation Bar! This enhancement combines our new Aurora design with a split search button to get you searching even faster. Try it out! (iPhone only)
- In Settings, you can now toggle Tab Labels on and off for our new navigation bar design. (iPhone only)
- Feed has been rebranded as TuneTransit Station, complete with a redesign to align with our new design language.
- Several improvements have been made to all TuneTransit pages to align with our new design language and deliver a better experience on devices of all sizes.
Bug Fixes (Version 1.8 + 1.8.1):
- We fixed a critical bug where TuneTransit would hang and stop operating properly in times of heavy network activity.
- We fixed several bugs where adjustments to TuneTransit Station items would not sync properly with the TuneTransit backend.
- We fixed several bugs across TuneTransit that resulted in possible stability and performance issues.
- We fixed several bugs where certain screens in TuneTransit would not correctly optimize for smaller devices.
- We fixed a bug where album artwork would not load properly in Now Playing, Recently Played, and our History screens.
- We fixed a bug where certain remixes would not search properly in Tidal, resulting in the incorrect result being chosen by our search engine.
- We fixed a bug where TuneTransit would take too long with certain Tidal searches, resulting in a delayed search result for all users.
- We fixed a bug where certain songs with dashes played on Spotify or Tidal would appear twice in Recently Played.
- We fixed a bug where the tab selection color would not update automatically when the app theme was changed.
- We fixed a bug where the QR code view on iPad would not appear correctly in TuneTransit Station.
- We fixed a bug where the pending friend badge would not appear in TuneTransit Station.
- We fixed a bug where searching a song from the Now Playing screen would not get matched optimally, which sometimes resulted in the wrong song being selected.
- We fixed a bug where selecting a song on user profiles in TuneTransit Station would not automatically open them in Search.
- We fixed a bug where our emoji search for TuneTransit Station profiles would not work with text.
As always, thank you for using TuneTransit and we look forward to continuing to deliver a seamless music sharing experience!

Now Boarding: TuneTransit v1.5.2 - Bug fixes and improvements!
When we release these sorts of updates, we stop and think to ourselves... what does a bug fix truly mean? Is it spraying the TuneTransit stations with bug spray? Is it fixing our train cars for a better rider experience? Maybe it means we need to write a 500 word response on the importance of fixing bugs....
This update serves primarily as a bug fix and improvement update for our users that utilize YouTube Music and Tidal. As we have been working on our next major update, we have identified some improvements that could be made in our overall engine -- so we figured, why wait?
This update contains the following bug fixes and improvements:
Improvements:
- For tracks that do not exist on YouTube Music but have 'Official Audio' on YouTube, we have provided those results labeled separately in our Find Music results. (This result will not carry over to generating a smart link as it is not an official YouTube Music track)

- We fixed several bugs relating to YouTube Music album searches not being processed correctly.
