We have been in contact with this user/tester on multiple occasions. He was very clear that he did not want to use the app to clean his desktop, stating that it would “mess up tens of thousands of files where 90% are already neatly sorted in folders on my desktop.”We explained that if the Desktop is not selected during setup, the app will not function properly—none of the preferences will be saved. This is a core design principle of DeskSweep. The user acknowledged this clearly, saying, “Right, that is self-evident.”We understand that not every app is for everyone, and that’s perfectly okay. However, despite not using the app as intended, the user still felt entitled to criticize its functionality and user interface.Unfortunately, there are a small number of users who try to impose their own expectations on a product. When their preferences aren’t met, rather than recognizing that different design choices may serve different needs—and that a particular app might simply not be for them—they feel justified in undermining the effort and hard work that went into the product.We appreciate all constructive feedback, but we also believe it's important to be transparent about how the app works and what it was designed to do.
