*free trial* program will not do anything without payment.

Hi there,Thanks for sharing your feedback. I can see the confusion – our app does offer a Weekly Trial subscription option, but I understand the "free trial" labeling might have created different expectations. The premium features like AR-powered PD measurement and frame recommendations do require a subscription to access. If you'd like to discuss this further or need help with anything specific, please reach out to our support team at support@appdepartment.co – we're here to help!

Needs subscription for anything

Other apps will actually give you results and only ask for subscriptions if you want to go more in-depth or do anything with them. You can get to the screen that offers a premium subscription and that’s it. It won’t even measure it for you before that.

Developer Response
Thanks for the honest feedback. The measurement engine is the core technology of the app, which is why it sits behind the subscription — the free trial lets you test the full flow before paying anything, and the yearly plan brings the cost down significantly.

They try to trick you into signing up for a recurring subscription. PD can be measured but you need a subscription to see the results. No wonder they asked to rate the app during the intro screen, even before you can actually use the app!

Developer Response
Thanks for sharing your concern. The subscription is presented with a free trial before any charge — nothing is billed without your explicit confirmation through Apple. The face-tracking measurement engine is what the subscription supports. If you were charged unintentionally, payments are handled by Apple and you can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Truly - completes a task via a monthly subscription that 5+ other apps on the AppStore do for free. I could understand placing ads between measurements… but I can’t imagine a recurring charge for such a simple app.

Developer Response
Thanks for the honest feedback. The measurement uses the front camera to locate your pupils precisely in a few seconds, and the subscription is what keeps it accurate across new iPhone models. If you'd like to keep using it, the annual plan is by far the most economical option.

• More accurate PD: just look at the camera, it measures on its own • Left and right PD measured separately • 20-20-20 eye-rest reminder is now free
