Vota is the restaurant finder that cuts through the noise. No star ratings, no bots, no paid placements. Just a smart comparison system powered by real diners who care about finding great places to eat.
Forget traditional restaurant reviews. With Vota, you compare two restaurants you've been to and pick the one you liked more. That's it. Our algorithm turns thousands of these honest comparisons into restaurant ratings that actually reflect quality. It's fast, it's fun, and it works.
WHY VOTA IS DIFFERENT
Most restaurant apps and review platforms make money from ads and sponsored listings. Vota doesn't. We're 100% independent. No restaurant sponsorships, no display ads, no paid rankings. Our restaurant recommendations come from the community, not from whoever pays the most. No Yelp-style paid boosts. No TripAdvisor-style sponsored placements. Just honest scores from real diners.
HOW THE VOTING SYSTEM WORKS
Open the app and start comparing restaurants you've visited, one pair at a time. No complicated rating scales or long-form reviews to write. Just pick your favorite from each pair. Every vote makes the system smarter for everyone. It takes seconds, and people tell us it's the most fun part of the app.
FIND THE BEST RESTAURANTS NEAR YOU
Browse a map of nearby restaurants sorted by genuine quality scores. Get personalized restaurant recommendations based on your taste and location. Check out restaurant menus before you go so you know what to expect. Discover hidden gems and Michelin-worthy spots in your neighborhood that the big review sites overlook.
Whether you're searching for the best restaurants near you, hunting for great places to eat in a new city, or just want a trusted restaurant guide for tonight's dinner, Vota's community-driven ratings help you skip the guesswork.

BUILT BY DINERS, FOR DINERS
Vota started because we were tired of restaurant reviews you can't trust. Paid placements, fake ratings, and algorithm tricks make it hard to find genuinely good places to eat. We built something better. Every comparison you make improves ratings for the whole community. The more people vote, the more reliable the scores become, and no single user can game the system.

As other reviews stated, it is an interesting idea but registration is needed unlike what the dev says, and there is still some work to be done regarding the interface and how it works.

Some promise. Location access and login are required. It’s really just a personal ranking app, there are no social features and you don’t see anyone else’s rating. Also the location bubble is too small, I live very close to my city center but it just keeps asking me to rank my neighborhood taco trucks, chains, and gas stations. No way to expand my bubble to include the restaurants I visit. It feels like I’m feeding data into a machine rather than getting any discovery benefits or recommendations.

It relies on people actually voting

In cities where few users contribute, the list naturally takes a bit longer to mature. But when it works. It just works. And I’m glad it’s independent, and not just another TripAdvisor

There is great simplicity in simply saying "which restaurant is better ignoring price".

I will say the voting process with this app is interactive and kind of fun compared to the standard five-star ratings with Yelp and other apps.
