Whether you’re an amateur archaeologist, student, or professional researcher, simply snap or upload photos of a suspect rock and let Artifactor’s advanced AI and computer-vision algorithms do the rest—no PhD required.
Core Features
On-Device & Offline Analysis
Scan for flake scars, bulbs of percussion, platform angles, retouch patterns, and more—completely offline, so you can work in remote locations without cell service.
AI-Driven Classification
When evidence of intentional workmanship is detected, Artifactor proposes the most likely tool type (e.g., scraper, biface, projectile point) and provides confidence scores.
Standardized Archaeological Terminology
Receive detailed reports that use the same language and criteria you’d find in professional literature: cortex percentage, dorsal scar orientation, raw-material type, and technology attributes.
Contextual Comparisons
Explore curated image galleries of similar artifacts from global collections, with links to published typologies, regional chronologies, and cultural affiliations.
Historical & Cultural Insights
Learn about the period and culture most commonly associated with each tool form, plus raw material provenance and likely use–wear scenarios.
Custom Database & Notes
Build your own catalog of finds: tag geolocation, stratigraphic context, site notes, and export full PDF or CSV reports for sharing with colleagues or academic advisors.
Seamless Cloud Sync
Opt in to securely back up your photos, analyses, and custom database to the cloud—access your work across devices and collaborate in real time.
