Most vocabulary apps are just dressed-up flashcards. Vocabulary Stories is different—every word is taught through a nine-step journey designed around how learners actually learn and remember.
The journey includes:
• An emoji game that helps learners become familiar with the spelling of the word
• A story that features the word 5–10 times in context
• A word search game for finding synonyms and antonyms
• A quiz—pass it and earn a flashcard for your collection
Five additional word games complete the nine-step journey, keeping learning playful and introducing new words along the way. A definition is provided for every new word.
Color-coded flashcards show when words need to be revisited:
• Green—learned within the past 30 days
• Amber—learned 31–90 days ago and due for a refresher
• Red—learned more than 90 days ago and due for review
This built-in spaced repetition encourages learners to return to older words, so vocabulary is not simply learned—it is retained.
After exploring the stories, learners reinforce their understanding through interactive quizzes and fun mini-challenges. These activities are designed to be friendly, low-pressure, and engaging, helping to build confidence as well as vocabulary mastery. Each correct answer strengthens word recall, while gentle hints provide additional support when needed.
The app includes a structured and growing library of high-value vocabulary commonly found in 11+ exams, the SAT, GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, and IELTS. New words are added regularly, helping learners expand their language skills in a consistent and enjoyable way.
Learners can easily monitor their growth through the app’s progress-tracking system. As they read stories, complete quizzes, and revisit words, the app tracks mastered words, learning streaks, recently learned words, and areas that need further review.
