I've been writing novels for about 8 years now and I've tried literally every writing app out there - Scrivener, yWriter, Plottr, you name it. They're all either too simple (just a fancy word processor) or so complicated that I spend more time learning the software than actually writing.AYCM Manuscript is different. It's the first app I've found that actually understands that characters aren't just names and descriptions - they're complex people with relationships, arcs, backstories, and connections to everything else in your story. Being able to set up family trees, track who appears in which chapters, and see how everyone's arc progresses through the story has been a game changer for me.The character development tools are incredibly deep. I can track motivations, flaws, strengths, and even transformation moments throughout the story. No - there's definitely a learning curve at first, and occasionally I wish some features were in slightly different places. This won't write your book for you (obviously) but it does help keep everything organized. Character details, timeline events, world-building stuff—all in one app instead of scattered everywhere.The interface is clean. Sync works between devices. Some features I don't use but the core stuff (characters, timeline, relationships) is really helpful.Good for writers working on complex stories. Less useful if you're writing something simple and straightforward.
