aString is built around two kinds of connection — Strings and Knots.
A String is a conversation between two people. It can be anonymous, where you're just a name the system gave you, or open, where you show up as yourself. Either way, it's just you and one other person.
A Knot is a space where a group comes together around something shared. Some are open to anyone, others you have to request to join. Some are anonymous, some aren't. Each Knot sets its own rules — you just decide if it's somewhere you belong.
Every person on aString is verified — through a university or professional email. No guests, no throwaway accounts. Just real people from real institutions.
