Saved me from that “new phone” panic over losing dad’s texts

My dad passed 5 years ago almost, and I’ve been super careful the once or twice I’ve had to change or update my phone, not to lose my texts with him. But the anxiety of losing them is only getting worse the longer it’s been since he texted me. This app made it so simple to capture and export the file and was worth the 8.99 a month. Even for the one thing. I feel so relieved to have those saved. And reading all our texts from over the course of 5 years was good for my grief too. Thanks, team

Garbage - Purposely Misled - DO NOT BUY

What the app description fails to explain anywhere BEFORE you buy, is that in order for you to export messages from an iPhone or iPad, you must take screenshots of every few sections of the thread, one by one. Screenshots!! So for a conversation thats been ongoing for months, this would take days. In other words, there is no easy way like you would expect from the words they use such as “effortless”, “easy to use”, “quickly”, etc. There is nothing effortless with this app as there is no auto export functions UNLESS you download it on a desktop and plug your phone/ipad but I tried that and it fails every time and doesn’t even ask you what to backup. I’ve read every one of the companies responses and they basically say “tough luck try to get your money back from Apple knowing full well people aren’t going to go thru the trouble for $7. Total scam.

As far as I can tell, this app's output is 100% not admissible in court, but it turned out to be really useful for crystallizing my engineering project ideas fueled by my relentless ADHD. They give you the option of editing any time stamp or message content before saving to a text file or a pdf file. Again, 100% not admissible in court. Just take screenshots for that and hope, my dude. Any jury can read rasterized screenshots of your texts, especially if you increase the font size first.

I went back and tried again repeatedly on my tablet and on my phone via screen recording but the same issues prevail. Maybe this works better by plugging the device in. When I’m able to purchase another laptop I guess I’ll try. Until then, the app is useless to me.

Import from Messages, added in September 2026, reads iMessage and SMS directly through Apple's Shortcuts app, so every sender and time is exact, and you don't need a laptop.
