The main problem is the male options for a female user. Let’s start with the fact that half of the male users have self-reportedly other religions, which already beats the purpose of the app. But here is the side-by-side comparison of the male options on jdate and on the more popular “H”, non-j, dating app. “H”options are an average of 6.5 among 100 filtered options, while for jdate the average was 2.5 among 20 (lightly) filtered options, which left me basically with an average 5 among 2 decent options. These are my personal approximate ratings obviously. But I would say from experience thay “H” feels 500 times better than Jdate. This is my honest take on it.

As per the title… simply stay away from this garbage app. Everything in this app is locked behind a subscription, and I mean everything. The only thing you can do without a subscription is setup a profile and look at a few profiles. Beyond that, you need a subscription. I spent 30 minutes answering all the questions in my profile in order to increase my chances of getting matches. After I answered everything their system marked all my answers as invalid or not good enough. Not only that, but even with a subscription they limit how many profiles you can see per day(about 2-3 profiles a day). You also cannot zoom in on a picture or swipe through pictures of someone’s profile without a subscription. It’s absolutely ridiculous. By the way, their subscription is $40/month for the MOST BASIC plan. This app is a money grab. At the end of the day, put your social media handles in your description so if someone’s like you, they can reach out to you via other social media apps. If you want to include messages, get an AI photo editing app or something to un-blur the message from someone if you want to go that extent. Like I said, this app is a joke and a completely pathetic attempt at scamming people. You have a better chance on a mainstream app like tinder or bumble. With $40 on those apps not only do you get all the privileges but they can also boost your profile so it shows up more.

Terrible customer service; terrible app. Still can’t get anyone to respond

I’ve been trying to get help with this app for months and I get no response when I send a message. I need to speak with someone! I’ve had no matches for months even when changing my “ preferences”. The last ones were men from other countries far off my preferences and when they finally removed them ( I wrote many times) I’ve had no matches for months even though I experimented and changed preferences a number of times !! I write them and get no response and no help! I got a reply fromSpark saying to contact site or update review. I’ve contacted site over and over and only get the automated reply. To add to review - this site is totally unresponsive - I can not get anyone to check my profile or let me know if there are really no “ matches” of men between 33-45 within 50, 100, 500 + miles of the major metropolitan city I live in!!!!!! Where is real ( live) customer service ???

If you use this app, you MUST understand how it works. The way they have it set up is the WORST process for a dating app. As you go through profiles, you have 2 choices, (1) press the heart for a like, (2) press the heart with a line through it to not like them. Guess what this app does??? If you press the heart with a line through it, you are “BLOCKING” that person and you will never have an opportunity to see them again unless they happen to randomly come up in a “Discover”. The app doesn’t tell you this with any onboarding training. So what will happen is once you look through all the profiles to who is that person you want to like, you cannot go back to others. You won’t have any other people come up in this app, it’s just blank with no people to review. The app is essentially a throw away app and they have developed this in the absolute worst way to generate subscriptions and revenue. These people aren’t too smart, but hopefully this helps you.
