The new "What's beneath" section in Discover shows the rock record for your area - every layer, stacked on a timeline spanning millions (sometimes billions) of years. • See the surface geology where you're standing, with just your approximate location - or look up any place by name • Scroll a time-scaled column of the rock layers recorded for your region, from yesterday's sediments down to ancient basement rock • Spot the gaps - missing chapters of deep time, marked right where the record skips. Some regions are missing hundreds of millions of years • Just identified a rock? Preview before you identify See your photo before sending it for analysis. Take your time, retake if needed, and tap Identify when you're ready. Add what you already know Entering a rock's hardness, luster, colour, or crystal system before identifying helps the AI give you a more accurate result. Not the right rock? Try again If the identification doesn't look right, tap "Not this rock?" to get a fresh result - no need to start over. Labels on sketches Toggle "Add labels" before generating a sketch to get geologically accurate annotations pointing to key features. More free uses Free users now get 5 identifications per week to get the most out of using the app.

Your identification queue now lives in your Collection tab! Look for the card at the top of your collection whenever you have photos waiting. A red dot on the Collection tab will remind you about queued items each time you open the app. When you're out of your free daily identification, your photo is saved to the queue so you won't lose it - and you can upgrade anytime for unlimited identifications.
